hellow,
Sorry for not introducing myself in the newbie thread. I am a woman and have been reading this forum for a while and I think what you are experiencing now is normal.

I have been back in my home country for almost a year, but I still often feel sad and missing my host country for 1.5 year terribly. And bear in mind, although our experience is not the same (you went to LOS, I assume, for a holiday, short term --> <2 months? ; and I went abroad for study, 18 months), but I do think that we might experience the post-lovely times-syndrome, just almost the same as others do.

Why don't you try to focus more on your job, set a goal that is feasible to fulfil what you want, instead of immersing yourself into the pain, and the sadness for leaving the holiday land?

Welcome eur11. Well, that's the number one problem. If I would be an employer, I would not allow my staff to go to Thailand. They never be the same again ;-)

Red face You have been smitten

You have caught the bug.Everything in Edinburgh will now only seem normal instead of good.

The only thing to do is to start planning your next trip - even if it is a year away.It is the planning that will take your mind of it.

Can you imagine if, say, a paper clip company were to offer an all-expenses-paid holiday in LOS to their salesman of the year..?

We'd all be knee-deep in unwanted paper clips sold to us by the world's most motivated sales team

Sounds like a good advice..
I do that. I started planning next trip to that lovely place soon as my feet touched the home country airport

oh yes, I believe that. .. Just remember that a man and a woman (who are lovers) could head to a different destinations without anyone realises what is going on, when there is communication barrier...

Okay, had to re-read this a couple of times until, I think, got what you ment.

Although this applies to all relationships and is already not easy, guess it's even more difficult if there are culture differences in play i.e. Western/Thai relationship. Expectations head different destinations if your not able to communicate properly.

I know, good topic and I'll do my very best. In addition to possible language barriers, there's also the need to "read & understand" non-verbal behaviour. Wow, what a challenge... ;-)

aha.. I see now that I made few grammatical mistakes in the post, that might have caused some confusions. English is not my first language, although that doesn't stop me from doing my best to speak and write English properly and correctly. Apologise for that

Yes, I think you are right..It happens and applies to ALL relationships, but ones with cultural and language differences are with more challenges...

No need to apologise, it's not you -> but me. I suffer a bit from "newsboard-dislectia", but it's getting better
