Good point - I'd forgotten about the 8 it, sometimes doesn't work here either.

Follow Barclay's advice about the 0844 numbers - do a search on google you will find many 0844 numbers for cheap calls to Thailand. Also depending on your own mobile network/contract you can get numbers to call that come under your free minutes allowance if you have them.

I was unable to receive any sms from Thaland (AIS network) between September 17th and 20th. Very strange..... Especially when I see what happened on 19th. All the message sent arrived on the 20th.

It's even worse now, I just get a recorded message saying "this number is out of service." But my TG can ring me from the same number. There must be a few network problems.

5555555555 I'm with Ntl and you better be ready for a monster bill.
My daughter used our land line to call her (local)boyfriends mobile. Cost me around £1 for 5mins.
Calling abroad is worse. To another landline its around 75p a minute. I have been with ntl a fair while and have never heard of 2p a minute calls, unless thats the local calls at weekends.
My advise is to ring customer services, or email them, ntlworld.com homepage and ask specifically for the rate you will be charged to call a Thai mobile number

I would sugest to look for some pre paid telephon cards, I usually call in thailand,or brazil using those cards you can either use them with youe home phone or mobil. a five euros card allows me to talk for 35 mitutes in thailand with my home phone, 17 min. by mobile.just deal the pin code ,the international code, area code ,and numb.

2p per minute also changes the gender. What a deal.

55555 Whether male or female, there seem to be plenty of these type of companies that offer cheap calls around the world.
DialAbroad - Calling Thailand - Cheap international calls to Thailand from any UK landline or mobile
The above one says 3p a minute from a landline in the UK to LOS, but Im a bit of a sceptic about this, and always think there is a scam going on and will be proven when the phone bill arrives.
