I just noticed a link in one of the frames to this website. New sponsor?

Anyway, for those of you who have yet to visit, I highly recommend it. Some good info there. Kind of like a Stickman alter ego.....

His bent is that the Stickman has become too commercialized and has "sold out" to sponsors and now his reports are not objective anymore. He makes some very good points on Thai living, but he sure does have a lot of typos.

He says he wants investors to invest in his company but uses Stickmans fame to try an achieve this.A complete arsehole hes just after making money as fast as he can using other peoples hard work
Why shouldn't Stickman make money from the sponsors?the sites free for everyone to view so I think he deserves to get something for the work he puts in.
This galt can't be bothered to put the work in and build up a fanbase like Stickman so hes flaming Stickman in hope that Stickmans fanbase will go over to him I certainly won't be using his website can't stand lazy twats like him.

I agree with that, he should make a name of himself instead of using the fame of Stickman to draw visitors.

He can have his own opinions as Stickman can have his, but to call a website notstickman and just critize him is just lame.

Stickmans views is HIS opinions and views, not neccessary everyone else.

I agree that having the same web design, and drawing traction from an already popular site to jump start his own is hitting below the belt. But, I was coming from the angle that more information is better than no information, unless it is misinformation. There are other articles that are not critical of Stickman. Just some more useful information, that's all.

I am certainly not anti-Stickman. Been reading his site for years and have made two reader's submissions.

Having said that Nicke, there was a link in one of the frames of a thread I was reading here on your site. Is it possible he linked to your site rather than vice versa. I'm no IT-techie, so I am not sure. I do know that a few weeks ago, this Galt guy admitted trying to link to Stickman's site and it was taken down.

Nah, they just advertise on Google and thats why they showed up here, it is nothing I included myself. (And I wouldnt either)

Sounds like this guy could be a disgruntled bar owner or similar; stickman might have spoken out about their business in his column. One thing I notice with stick's weekly is he uses "weasel words" a lot, that is "I heard blah blah...", "People are saying that..", "The rumour is...", etc etc. It's really bad form IMO when you're presenting info in an authorative manner.

That said the articles on this nonstickman are a great read.

I'm just back from LOS - back in Europe and back into my surfing habbits to keep connected with Thailand. Stickmans site was one of them, I enjoyed reading it. Now it looks like that Galt guy has won his war. A shocker to see all the commercials about his company below his great revealment. Completly misplaced and so cheaply obvious . Is that what he was after all the way ?

i think they are both copying the format originated by bernard trink from the bangkok post "night owl" section was his title i think....he was a great read had all the info on the bar scene in bangkok and pattaya he knew all the bar owners and lots of the girls too..i think between the internet stealing his readers and the bangkok post going pc he was put out too pasture.....
i did see he had a web site but it never really made it......

Looks like R.I.P Stickman. I think things might be better off in the long run if sites like thailandstories.com can now pick up the traffic...it is at least a damn sight easier to read and allows for comments other than "No time for comment now - Stick".

I imagine the stick site itself or the stories will turn up in some other form, looking at those numbers on the Galt site there is too much $ involved for it all to disappear.

Due to I guess what must have been jetlag, I've read way too much about that crap the past two nights by now. Getting a little bit annoyed/bored by expats opinions in Thailand. It seems like a never ending loop, that incl. Stick, JG, MS + all wannabees.

Lifes too short for these two's bickering and petty sniping at distance IMHO. The washing of anyones laundry in public doesn't float my boat, you got a problem with me..........Come and see me.
