Just arrived back from 2 weeks in Patong.

For eating, Sweets (of course) and the big street kitchens on Rat u Thid just before you get to Bangla (especially the Red Boat stall) was best for Thai food. For fresh fish, lobster, Tiger Prawns etc. these kitchens were almost half the price of the restaurants along the beach front.

We did 3 days Thai food, 1 day "normal". For International food, we liked Ricos steakhouse (great ribs and steak) and The Islander (down Soi opposite Soi Sea Dragon on Bangla). Great UK pub grub, liked their home-made chicken and mushroom pie. their chips were great home-cut style as well.

Is this the area behind Tiger complex from where you also can walk up to Rat-U-Tit? If so, then you are right. My gf would take me there a couple of time of cheap but quite delicious meals. But I forgot the names of these individual restaurants.

Red Boat is opposite the Paradise complex in a row of seafood restaurants. Do agree that the Red Boat is one of the best choices in this row. Food is good, affordable and service pleasant. They even do valet parking for you car or motocycle!!
