help required!!

Hiya

Just sat through the last meeting that I can handle here in London town.. I do not think I can handle anymore of that crap or of the train journeys to work, the pissin rain, grumpy faces and just the rat race in general.. I want to sell everything I have and make a new life in the land of smiles. I have spent aboutr 17 months in Thialand in the last five years.. Does anyone have a job for me sometime in January I really cant stand this nonsense anymore? I dont care what the job is I want to come..

PM me if you have something for a pretty cool easy going scottish guy in need of escape

First of all you need to tell what skills you hold and in what field you are in....And second itīs not that easy to get a job in LOS and to make a living can be pretty hard...I surgest that you read and search the forum for the topic and you will find alot of answers to your questions...Good luck.'

How do you plan on getting a work permit. Personally I don't have any experience in this area, but in reading numerous posts on this board, it seem to be nearly impossible; especially as of late.

Lars you are right..the first thing you have to do is to SEARCH the forum before you start asking questions....No need to ask if you can get the answers by searching the forum...

You should be able to work it out for yourself then.

Bit of a sarcastic reply isn't it Islandboy?

If anyone had anything for you, you'd have been told.

I think you need to read up a bit more on getting a WP in Thailand. Very difficult unless you can do a job that a Thai cannot. The Thaivisa forum is a good source of info for anyone thinking of working in LOS.

Incredible isnt it..

A random post on a message board stating nothing about yourself only your desire for a job (presumably one at many multiples of a local labour rates).. And there wasnt a sudden rush of offers to employ you..

Tell you what.. If you have GFX experience and can handle web graphics and design work I will offer 20k baht per month full time or part time to be negotiated.. If you can handle PHP coding to go with graphics work I can make that 30 up for full time. Your work permit, tax, and social security payments etc would obviously need to be your own issues.

Cheer up, just shows that the first 79 people to view your post either:

a) do not live in LOS or
b) do live there but are not yet hiring for staff in January.

This is not surprising really, as very few BMs here live in LOS and also Thailand makes it difficult for farangs to work there.

Perhaps you could think about other countries in the region that make getting to LOS a lot easier

I have just been offered work down in Singapore, which as you will know, is just an hour's flight away from Phuket

I am now in the process of finalising all the details and sorting out the paperwork.

Hopefully it will mean no more "pissin rain and grumpy faces" for me after the New Year

O.K, sounds interesting, I did ask you this because I am also looking seriously for work in the asian region, but I am specialized in the oil and gas industrie, maybe you know also something for me, if so, get me informed.

JP, be serious, how can Diz possibly have knowledge of work in the gas/oil business. You seem to ask this question of everyone who gets a job relocating to SE Asia, irrespective of what they do

There are whole websites dedicated to recruitment into the oil and gas industry. It's where I look now and again for security slots.

THAILAND Oil & Gas Jobs

There maybe something in this lot that you could do?
