Celebrity Chef- Keith Floyd
I was just reading that he is opening a restuarant in the Burasari Hotel on December 22nd, opposite the Holiday Inn in Patong.
For those of you who don't know he is a English Celebrity Chef famous as much for his drinking and womanising as he is for his food.
I suppose he has picked the right place for it. I wonder if he will be there on the opening night, or is it just one of these places he has put his name to.
I will have a look when I am over.
Burasari Patong, Phuket : Thailand
Regards
Drew

I enjoy watching his cook shows on TV on the Travel Channel.
Have always wondered how his food taste like.

Talking about this with my buddy.. We were speculating how much involvement he would truly have from being the chef, to maybe just designing the menu and signature dishes, to just being there for show to being there just for opening..
My buddy pointed out as it is Thailand he wondered if Kieth Floyd even knew it was happening !!

Already 'soft opened' and review from a friend was good.
As he is a celebrity he made a reservation in another restaurant for tomorrow with a kind of funny quote..... ah, celebrity you said....
Any nice addition is good for Patong, will see what he can add...

Not surprising considering the amount of red wine he gets through in just a 30 min TV programme. Always enjoyed his shows as he is passionate about food, but not all his dishes look too good to me.

Although he seems to have talent, when he opened his first restaurant in Bristol, he was famous for his violence, which he used to inflict on his then wife quite regularly.
So I won't be eating at any of his places - out of principle

Heard there's a vacancy for a chef at Faulty Towers
Like this statement on his wikipedia listing...>>Keith Floyd became a journalist in Bristol and after watching the film Zulu decided to join the British army attaining the rank of Second Lieutenant in the Royal Tank Regiment. After leaving the army, Floyd found employment in several catering-related jobs including barman, dishwasher and vegetable peeler.<<

I thought that his "Far flung Floyd" programme a few years back now, was very good from Samui.
He interacts with other people very well, until the wine takes real effThatsThats why he has stopped doing TV, as they insisted that he does not drink while doing them. So he stopped after trying for a couple of series!
Did anyone see the repeat last Saturday in the UK, when he was at a Welsh Rugby club? Funny as FCUK!!!! HE was with some Welsh rugby player and they both cooked for the team after training. Hilarious

Most memorable Floyd for me was the one I think he was in Africa, in a compound full of ostriches....and what was he cooking????????
Ostrich of course Several of them came up during theshow and had a peck at him

Opening Night
Apparently 'The Sozzeled Legend' will be there for the official opening on December 22nd.
I have managed to reserve a table for 7.30 pm, as I land on 21st.
I quite liked his shows; he was a bit of a 'Character' like Oliver Reed, Peter O'Toole or George Best. He even bought out a DVD on 'Floyd on Hang-Overs' which was like a mini Xmas show on getting drunk then recipes for cures.
Good to see Characters putting Phuket back on the Map.
Regards
Drew
