Typhoon?

Hi guys

Just picked up from the Belgian news that there seems to be a typhoon (not a rich guy but a real storm ) would be on its way to Thailand.

I know there has been a lot of issue with the tropical storm around Vietnam lately.

Since I'll be coming over on Friday, any news on this from Thailand itself?

By the way, might be a good excuse to stay inside and paaaaaaarty

See you there soon

Dirk

I thought they sped up over water and slowed once hitting land, cos I saw it was headed for Koi Samui and thought they would get a bit of a bashing and we would get just a bit of cloudy, slightly windy day. Whatever, I'm no weather expert but would be long gone by Friday and back to glorious sunshine, hope all members from UK are reading this, hows it back home chaps????

Raining, gales and getting colder, say no more

We even had a mini tornado hit mid-Wales last week only 16 miles away from where I live. Ripped a few roofs off and overturned a caravan.

I just took a look on a couple of weather pages and Durian is forecast to be just a little bit North of Phuket by Dec 6 at 1800 local time. Winds are forecast to be 20 knots with gusts to 30 knots. Remember this is just a forecast, but all indications are for this storm to be dissapating and moving west.
Hope this helps.

Durian set to dump deluge on Phuket

PHUKET: The Southern Meteorological Center (West Coast) today warned that Tropical Depression Durian is likely to cause heavy rain in Phang Nga and Ranong, with lesser rain in Phuket and other nearby provinces. The center has urged people in “at-risk” areas – those areas prone to flooding and landslides – to prepare for the deluge.

The statement, released by the center at 4 pm, said that the storm reached Thailand’s east coast in Chumphon Province earlier today and is predicted to move across the country toward Phuket.

The statement also warned that strong winds would make conditions in the Andaman Sea treacherous with two- to four-meter waves. The center advised that small boats should not set out to sea for the next couple of days

... by the way, it is raining today in Germany and the snow mark is going down from 2000 m to 1000 m (about 3000 ft) this night in the alps.

I meant the Patong FMP.. Theres one on tri trang beach each month now.. They actually do quite a bit of work in setting it up and it could take off quite well..

Was on night of the 4th before the kings B'Day day off..
