hey all
 i have question maybe i cud start here for help,.. next summer i'll be in thailand probley phuket and i'll be looking to make friends before i move over.ive noticed on the classifieds here they have websites to meet new people, im not to sure about the website or is it genuine..but im hoping that maybe some one can point me in the right direction as far as good reliable genuine websites to meet new people.. thanks all.

not interested in a thai bride at this point of time..i was hoping to meet a girl over the internet or phone and to get to know each other..so i'll fell comfortable when we meet,i could be easier i dont know...are the girls on this website for dating or whats the deal and do i have to buy a membership? ..what do u think river

I think you haven't been to Thailand yet. No need for all that bollocks you'll see when you get there. Just go to Patong and head straight for the Mai Thai Bar.

Head out of house with a smile and some baht in your pocket and you will be beating them off with the proverbial shitty stick... The girls on the dating sites are only the same money grabbers using a different catchment technique.. and probably higher demands..

I've seen and heard of people taking out ads in the Phuket Gazette online (describing what they are looking for) prior to arrival to kick up some dust, but not sure of the results. I would guess that you'll get the same crowd you run into in daily life there. Worth a shot though...

Be careful if checking out ThailandFriends. I wouldn't say it's a dating site per se (although many people try and use it as one). It's more a friends network kind of thing like myspace and alot of the girls don't take well to being harrassed by farang!
Plenty of true dating sites if that's what you're after. Ps. turfsire, get down to the bars in Patong on Phuket and you'll get to know a girl better in an hour and a few drinks than you would in months on the internet! Plus you can choose what they look like :-)

Dude it charges guys 60 USD a year membership levels.. And chicks free..
Looks like dating site option to me.. Of course asian.adultfriendfinder is more my style

Events get organised like nights out etc which are just parties, not dating stuff. Having said that, I have met up with one or two willing chicks ;-) and it does go on, but it's just not the same as a true dating site.

When I was on there it was limited severly 3 messages a day and chicks has free full membership (messages and 12 pics etc)..
Not been back in years but it was a dating site with lots of functionality to me.. All 'seeking' etc built into profiles.. Good site design tho..

I would say it's changed somewhat from that. But it's a cracking site, has a good forum etc etc (used by thais and farang, male and female).
There are people who put profiles up and have loads of pics of them and their boyfriend / girlfriend etc etc That said, the demographic of users is female mainly thai and male mainly farang. And it's pretty obvious what alot of people are on there for even if it's not properly overt like on other purely dating sites!!
