Im heading back to samui on friday for the 3rd time this year (**** me los is addictive) and I want to buy some presents for some of the friends ive made there over the years.
What should I get for them?
i went into charity shop and filled up a bag of toys for the kids, thanks pdsa
my airport pick up guy and motor bike hire man wanted a peter storm rain coat. (not any rain coat, had to be a peter storm!) thanks ebay

i think they would appreciate anything from wales, they would get a kick out of it
maybe some hats from futbol teams for the guys
cute shirt for the girls
everytime i have given someone like hotel staff a gift from the states they were extremely happy
also, try and remember some conversations you've had with them, seems you have gotten close to them
maybe they mentioned something they liked
i bought the driver at my regular hotel some cd's he likes and he flipped

I have always found small stuffed toy things like kangaroos or koalas go down a treat!!
As said before, any small item from your home country is appreceiated. And the quality of "services rendered" can be vastly improved with a well chosen gift!!!!!

This is a strange one..
Apparently its unlucky to give scent here.. Yet over the years I have bought loads and its always been super well received.. Yet I keep hearing its unlucky.
One girl came and gave me a coin (5 baht or something) afterwards.. So that she had 'bought' it and broken the bad luck mojo..

Sprouts not my favoured.
Belgian chocolates must be about best in the world. Could also bring Belgian beer, but that is to heavy and voluminous.

my gf loves Winnie the Pooh more than life
so i go to the Disney store in ncy and buy her the real one
she is so use to that fake, real yellow winnie the pooh that when i gave her the real one, which is more brown, she seemed a little confused and disappointed but quickly realized she had the real deal

Ive been asked by a number of different girls to bring 'real' handbags with me next time. As the fake ones are everywhere but the real ones are very expensive (Supposidly!)
The only 2 probs with this are I have not much fashion sense anyway, but absolutly no idea when it comes to Thai handbag fashion. Secondly I leave for the airport in a few hours and have totally forgotten about until i started reading the thread.
Bugger, have realised I was meant to bring alot more stuff also. Sorry Nicke etc.

it seams strange to me as well cuz I never heard about that, its never too late though,
I brought some little botlle of parfume to the staff at the patong merlin, and it was asked by them,I also remember a girl from soi easy who I spent a few days with who used to put on my scent water of gio, armani, and to say the least she kept it b4 leaving.
during my 2 years relationship with a regular thai girl, living in pithsanulok.she used to remind me to buy scent for her and mom be4 leaving italy, that may be due to the fact that she has chinese origins.
again it seams stange to me too.could it be cuz things have been changing and their life style is now more western orientated?
