2007 : Looking ahead
Finally 2007,
I am looking ahead to my planned Holiday in 2007.
I have several things in mind, such as the flight : Singapore airlines from Amsterdam to Bangkok and than to Phuket / stopover in Singapore, I thougt
this is the best connection. Any suggestions are welcome about other flights.
Also the Hotel I have in mind, but I am thinking not to book ahead, but instead of that when I arrive in Patong. ( It will be June and July def.) so there is plenty of space.
So in the next couple of months I am planning the serious stuff : not to much
drinking and eating, little more exercise and be ready for Patong, so keep the windows shut.
Jean-Pierre.

Hi Jean Pierre,
If you just want to go to Phuket and are sure you want to fly with SQ, then your best connection will be AMS-SIN with the SQ-324 and you'll land at 06.30hr.
Then SIN-Phuket with Silk Air MI-752 departing at 08.50hr, which is SQ's regional daughter. Usually you have a good schedule and you can through label your luggage. You can book everything on the SQ website. Works smoothly.
Also your return flight will be on a nice schedule. Just have a look at the SQ site.

I will focus on the best flights, I had a lot flights to Asia and also a lot of different companies, but I still think Singapore airlines will be the best scheduled. Last year I flew with Thai Airways and I had to wait for 7 hours at Kuala Lumpur. but also thanks for the info peterhol

I don't understand this one JP
If you flew Thai Air to LOS, what were you doing in KL.
Were you not going to Bangkok and Phuket? because if you were you chose a long way round.
Looks like you have a choice, Thai/Eva/ China to BKK then on to HKT with whoever, or Singapore Airlines to Singapore and use SilkAir or Tiger to Phuket
You need to let people know exactly your itinery before you can get any correct advise.

Since JP indicated he prefers to fly SQ, I already gave him a schedule with a copmbination of SQ and Silk Air. This is basically his most convenient connection, but a bit more expensive.
If you use Tiger, then your only option is to take the late flight with Tiger (I think it is around 9.30pm), so he would have to spend the daytime in Singapore.
The early moring flight is out, due to the arrival in Sing at 6.30am from AMS and the morning Tiger flight leaves around 7.00am from the Budget terminal.
I didn't really look into a flight AMS-BKK-HKT, but that shouldn't be too difficult to find on the web.

IJ,
They are not too bad. And believe me, I am pretty much a critical guy on airlines as I had too many bad experiences.
I booked them for my March trip.
AMS-BKK with CI-66 leave: 14.25 arrival 07.10
BKK-AMS with CI-65 leave: 02.10 arrival 09.00
Hope it helps you.

Yes i think so,they are very popular up here because of the low or best prises.
As i said they are a Taiwan based company,Not Main China.
The service is very good,i would say better than Thai, free drinks al the way
Very helpfull staff, one of the few i always get a good seat when asking for more space for the legs.
And they are good looking
I have used them 3 times and i will again if i dont get tickets from Copenhagen due a reasonable price.
But their planes are old but that is Thai airways planes also up here to.
Last time i was in Ams i was looking at the China airplane took of to BKK
ca 14,30,you chould see the black smoke afther that plane hehe
BTW,was using Singapoore Airlines last tripp from Copenhagen,al this talk about their faumos service ??
Cattle clas is Cattle clas even at Singapoore air.

But Klav have a point in the high seasoon.
Tickets for me is cheaper from Amsterdam or Copenhagen to Singapoore and Kualalumpur than to BKK,
Al flights in Feb are almost sold out to BKK in Feb,just the high high price tickets left.
But if you go to Phuket via another city (not BKK)its still some ordinary tickets left.
Only shit is that it is with KLM or Lufthansa in every search
