unwanted visitors in hotel room!

i'm sitting in horrible london listning to a radio presenter talking about her trip to phuket. it's very intresting actually. she goes every year and loves it.
anyway...she was very upset a couple of weeks ago when she woke up to find a huge rat with it's nose in her bin inside her room!
it was a 5 star hotel (won't mention name). they moved her to another room...but she decided to check out and moved to holiday inn.

i've had the odd cockroach in my room but never a rat!!

5555555555 Cockroaches yes, they love the humidity and heat, but a rat in the room is a bit much. Was she charged extra for a guest??

Cockroaches are OK against a rat but can take too much time to wear them down. I prefer GEEKOS. upper case because the little bu**ers can be so loud. Besides eating mozzies, if trained properly I’m sure they can take a rat on.

Came home to a gaggle of wild cats one night, after inadvertently leaving one of the windows ajar - and was attacked by one of those bl**dy cocroahes one evening whilst walking down a street in Chiang-MaI - DARN THING LITTERALY JUMP UP AND POUNCED AT ME - but no, no rats

I doubt she had a choice. She would have to pay this when leaving. Nearly every hotel would charge a cancellation fee in spite of the problem. After all, they did move her to another room.

Would be really funny if the rat "moved" to the other room with her.

actually the full story was that they moved her to another room. then said the following day they had to move her again. she was fed up with all the messing about..coupled with the rat thing she decided to move alltogether.

Should staple a razor blade onto its head just to even the odds a bit imo.

I think we can rule out a drop bear, unless of course one has hitched a ride on the new Jetstar service. Geez if thats the case, better be careful after dark in Patong.
