heard from my gf that the general public in BKK is quite shook-up with all the recent activity
i explained to her, just like after 9/11 with the anthrax scares, you will always have false alarms and copy-cats

on another note. she really does blow me away for a former bg, and a thai in general, how much she really follows and understands alot of outside news

Not decrying Ao in anyway but a lot of Thai girls watch the news and the news here does cover most international events, especially of course something on the scale of 9/11

Gee watches the news every morning and then tells me the latest stuff when I get up, we then quite often compare this to CNN and/or BBC. I find not so much as she does not want to know or indeed get to know world events it is more she only bothers to retain the information for a short period if it does not effect her daily life.

My nutter is oblivious.. cartoons and slapstick clowning or those 4 chicks all going 'awwwww' over a puppy or similar.. Drives me nuts.

Just back from bkk. Normal during the day. Except more searches at hotels and shopping malls. Skytrain seemed normal.

Places like Paragon or Siam Square really clear out as soon as it gets dark. Taxi guy was complaining he isn't getting any business at night now.

I guess people think that the day is safe because the bombs were at night. Don't make any sense of course.

I guess this is the first time there has been a real threat in BKK for sometime so they are freaked. In phuket we have gotten used to a constant threat with the southern issue. Maybe they will do more to get things resolved now (I know not related but...).
