On applying for your Non-Immigrant O Multi Entry Visa

I need a wee bit of info/advice please on applying for my Visa...

Basically Im stuck in Ireland atm till about 19th of Feb when Im planning on flying to Thailand from the UK on the 27th of Feb....As yet I dont have my visas sorted out tho and was wondering on the following:

Is the Thai Consul in Dublin open to issuing Non-Imm Os Multi Entry to people on UK passports? I understand the consul in Hull is very good at issuing them.

And,

For purpose of visit, what you suggest as a good reason? My folks can switch over to retirement visa later on, but as Im not married/visiting relatives etc just curious as to what would be appropriate to mention for a Non-Imm O M.

If the embassy in Dublin is a no goer im tempted to Fedex the forms/passports etc to a friend in Wales to get it all done at Hull and have him Fedex everything back!

Cheers

Oh and Woo, 53 weeks after my first trip, finally getting back...Never thought it was gonna take that long when I left last time!

Izzy, how long are you going to LOS for?

I've done two trips (March '06 and Dec '06) and in neither trip did I bother getting a Visa before I travelled. When I 'arrived' in BKK I had my passport stamped with a 30 day visa on both occasions. Who says that you need to get a Visa before you arrive in LOS?

Heys, Im looking to stay basically as long as I feel like im happy there..i.e. open length...My idea is to get the Non Imm O so I only have to return to the UK once a year to get a new one and do 90 day runs inbetween...

Previously I got a Tourist Visa for 60 days.

Send your passport to hull direct.. They then post it back to your UK address.

Purpose of visit 'visiting friends and family' you should get a non O from that..

Should be straight forward especially in your case as you and your folks will be travelling together. The consulate should look favorably on the family visit factor.

All the best Izzy, hope you get over hassle free.

No problems izzy, send to Hull explain that you are currently in Ireland for whatever reason, reason on application - visiting friends and family, put in return address stamped envelope, registered post for Ireland with application. Hull will turn round your application in 24 hours but like you to apply no closer than 1 month before travel. You can renew this visa by going to KL in 12 months time or back to UK, flights from BKK to UK are very cheap, about £300 return from the bucket shops and after 12 months you might like a little trip back home.

Izzy probably wont be able to renew that in KL.. Visiting friends and family doesnt wash down there and even multi entry 12 month non O's or even non B's are getting much harder to obtain...

Send a message via Skype™ to Denver
Hull Consulate is pretty much on the ball Izzy. As per Dodgers advice.

One thing I will mention is that the visa starts the day they process it for you and put it back in the post back to you or.....on the day you visit them. There are no exceptions and they will not postdate a visa for any reason. I did ring them and explain my circumstances (They were closed over the New Year and I was travelling early January, had to visit them before the Christmas closure etc) So it's a timing thing and you need to give them a lead in time which I think, via post, is about 10-14 days.

Just FYI and good luck with your application Izzy.

Well I have to go back to Wales for 19th Feb to see the eye Quack and bugger about in general, so over weekend now im going to be looking for flights on/around 27th Feb....

Plan is: First stop condo somewhere in Jomtien, get a car organized and then spend about 2 months in and around the Pattaya areas to see what its like there ..If it suits me better than Phuket then will look to get a house rental for a year and just see how it goes....if I find I preferred Phuket then going to take the car and drive down to Phuket stopping off at Hua Hin n' places on the way and just find a house to rent there...TBH still unsure as to what area I would prefer on Phuket tho

During that time too one of my priorities is to find someone long term to help me out so im not reliant on my folks driving me about places n that. My dads only looking to stay for 2 months initially too and theres no way my mum would drive in the busier areas.
