SORRY GUYS but i am appealing for help again i was booked into kn from march 28th till april 6th unfortunately i have had to change my arrival date and will now arrive at kn on friday march 30th at 3.30pm (unavoidable my mate has commitments in bangkok at the british embassy on the thursday.)

despite now sending 3 emails to tyhe owner there NID i am recieving no replies (she is notorious for this)

i wonder if any bm in the vicinity could go in and ask her if my booking is still ok because i am giving it until wednesday february 6th and then i would have to make a booking for another hotel i cant take the chance of arriving in patong with no accomadation .

i would be loathe to move hotels because i love the kn its in a perfect location for me !

I asked K&N Guesthouse few days ago about a booking request and they couldnt tell me if they had rooms or not available. Told me to come back next day.

So you just want cut the first two days of your booking?

dropping 2 days off of your booling should not be a problem. You already reserved your hotel from March 28 to April 6 and had a confirmed reservation. So now you arrive on March 30th, a day that you already have reserved as part of your previous booking.

Adding nights might have been a problem but subtracting them never is unless you are near your arrival date and would have a cancellation fee for the nights that you cancelled.

Relax, you are fine, and you are cancelling the nights way in advance so should have no cancellation fees at all.

I'll go and check it out today, did a similar thing for Dawsey a few days ago. Met with Nid, she had no bookings at all in her diary although she kept looking in it, then reluctantly turned on her computer and had a little look to not find his booking for 4 rooms and this was after she had confirm 3 times to him by email.

Think you could be wrong with your point Seafox, because if he does not turn up on the 28th, Nid could assume he weasn't coming and let his room to someone else.

DODGER that would be much appreciated mate tell her because i have a swimming pool room reserved and i know they are popular i am prepared to pay for the 2 nights 28th and 29th i am cancelling . but if she gives the room to someone else then i understand and in that case an ordinary room would have to do BUT ON A LOW FLOOR !

Popped into KN Guesthouse today to sort it for you Tom, that woman (nid) is the most disorganised person I've ever met, how she runs a business I will never know. Told her your situation and that you couldn't get there until the 30th. Fine she sayes and carries on reading a magazine. No, can you make a note of the booking or check and alter the reservation while I am here?, she agrees and adds your booking 30th to the 6th into to her blank diary, well not exactly blank as it had Dawsey's booking I made her put in the other day. Urm, could you sort of check your computer and amend your records whilst I'm here? no she couldn't do that as today the computer wasn't working so how the feck she keeps any sort of record from phone call bookings or emails etc, who knows.

I would email her again saying I've been in and she has put the record in her diary, mention you were already booked in and maybe you will get a confirmation better than 'ok'. I do not mind popping down again if you get any further problems but think it should now be okay, well as good as any of her normal bookings.

Dodger, he is talking about a reservation 60 days in the future. He has plenty of time to get in touch with her about cancelling the 2 nights. T was already talking about cancelling his whole reservation and going to another hotel because she had not answered him, 60 days out. That was what I was talking about.

Glad you can help him out so he knows that everything is taken care of.

It is too bad that people have to sit on pins and needles waiting for her to interrupt her busy schedule to do some business, which contributes to her nice life in LOS.

AS I SAID IN MY pm to you dodger i appreciate you going down there and i got her usual standard email saying booking ok ( i am sitting here laughing just thinking about her) she definately is the thai version of basil fawlty 55555 and yet the hotel is always busy christ knows why when she cant be bothered to reply to anybodys emails

anyway i reckon it will be ok now so will just arrive there now dawsey gets there 48 hours before me so he can remind her of my arrival .55555555

That Nid is a liability as far as I can see. If Dodger hadn't gone into K&N to check my reservation, I could have turned up to find no rooms at all

She has taken no deposit, and if I didn't turn up, she only has my email addy, so its definately a slapdash way to run a booking service.

This is hardly a great advertisement for the KN Guesthouse!

There must be something very good about the hotel to put up with this uncertainty. But like Talbotman said, the place is always busy, so I suppose the 'incentive' is not there to change the status quo.

Weird, I saw her put both of your names and dates into her paper desk calendar when i went round to check up on it for you some months ago...
And she had the emails too.

Maybe she got a new calendar and didnt bother to transfer peoples bookings, who knows?...

Not unique to the K&N either D, same same Patong Villa and several other places I emailed with regard to room availability. When I was looking for temporary accommodation for 3 months I thought I would be in with a better chance of an answer over an enquiry about 3 weeks! Nope! 5555555

Still waiting to hear back from a few places now but given up holding my breath because I ended up looking like this!

Hey talbot, i hope she dont put you in fifth floor as i had to stay during xmas and new year. i booked in already in july and got one of the last room on top..

she claimed that the elevator would be done by that time.. but of course it was just the frame there when i arrived.. i swore a bit at the 86 steps the first week stay, but after that i kind of got used to it

and i had a lot nicer view from top too.

AS I SAY because i had to change my arrival day i dont expect her to keep the swim pool room but i did offer to pay for the 2 nights i would not be there so who knows
i will stay in an ordinary room no problem BUT i will not stay any higher than the first floor if there is no elevator if i arrive there to find that she has put me on the 3rd, 4th or 5th floor and there is no working elevator i will simply walk away it is not high season so there will be plenty of rooms available elsewhere no way am i climbing 8 flights of stairs to get to my room when i go to hamburg and amsterdam the hotels there are like that and what happens is when you come downstairs in the morning you dont want to climb back up until you are going to bed at the end of the night 5555555
