If their lips are moving, they are lyeing

I spoked to my TGF today. She was to the swedish embassy and applyed for a visa. They asked her how long time she have knew me. She said one and a half year. The document that I have to sign I told the truth, we met on Kings birthday 2005, 5 Dec. A Pattaya bar, open 7/24.

She visit me for 3 months last year so embassy already have the history or us. Her best friend is married to a german, but she cant have a visa coz she was lyeing to the german embassy about her work. She worked at the same bar as my GF but she gave address to a non p4p place. They checked ofcourse and no lady named ***** has ever worked there.

My GF knew she shall not lie, but it must be in their genes.

Last time we asked for visa I was with her to the embassy and I should go with her in my last trip in dec 06 but she have to go and have a mayor surgery to remove a tumor first and we dident knew how long it will take her to recover. She had a CAT scan in Sweden so that was not a sick buffalo story.

BM Dr. M made a tips about cheap tickets by Malaysian Airways sold Jan 31 to Feb 6. But she will have her answer from embassy on Feb 9.
I was sure she would have her visa so i could book her ticket today. Now I dont knew what to do

I am drinking Singha, (bougth here in Sweden) and is drunk and upset so my spelling is not so good.
But any suggetions or comments is welcome.

hi repeter,..Surely information on current application must match previous visa requests for same country...

Was under the impression that admitting to being a BG was a no no and would make things difficult for obtaining a visa...

Would certainly not pay for an air ticket without confirmation of the visa, you may be able to book but stall payment for a week or so..

All the best...

I was told the same - as a BG the chances are they will be either rejected or at least, made to undergo prolonged researching etc...

Unless you know a good Thai buddy who can conjure up a couple of fake letters, employment records etc..

Payment must be made when booking.
it would be a big gamble to book before knowing as believe non refundable ticket ?

Lying is the big no no, not being a Bg, this is not a problem. Get caught out in a lie or if they think you are lying NO VISA.

For Sweden it is no big thing if the girl hv been in the Bar before.
As most of the girl hv been there when they arrive to Sweden.
The embassy knows this.
Normally it takes a week before she gets her visa if they go on a "tourist Visa". If she want to live with the bf it takes up to 6 months before they get the visa.

2 month wait time for interviews at Swedish embassy right now.

My guess is that the whole procedure right now would take aprox, 3-4 months.

2 months for just the interview?? I'll be damned... I thought , like Peter G, that it was just a week for the whole thing and 6 months for the residence permit...

The fact she had a visa before to see you and came back to thailand should make this a no brainier. Second time visas to the same country and to see the same guy are a lot easier. You should really stick this in the face of the embassy person and get them to explain what you need to do to get this sorted quickly. Get on the phone or get on a plane.

I'm not swedish, so can't comment on that aspect.

Having done the visa thing for my GF and knowing others who have hit trouble, here are some thoughts.

She needs to establish that she will be coming back. She needs to show that she is gainfully employed here. They need to believe that she won't be taken abroad to work as a prostitute or some sex slave situation.

Best way to establish that is an employment letter and bank records. I know some that have had a friend with a business write a letter as if the girls worked in that place. Ideally the girl has the same amount going into her bank account (from some source) every month. It also helps if she can show educational records from college or university. Ideally the employment letter somehow connects with tourism, so she can claim she traveling to better understand tourism and that will make her more valuable in her job upon return.

You also need to establish yourself. You need to guarantee her stay in your country. Submit bank records to show you have more than enough to cover her expenses while she is there. A personal letter can also help. Establish the nature of your relationship, time, and why you want her to come over. Also be clear you will send her back before her visa will expire.

I had one friend that was having trouble. Basically the thai staff at the embassy was giving this one girl a really hard time. The guy had to go in person and talk with one of the true embassy staffers and basically said "what do i need to do to get her a visa. This is for real."

It is also super important that everyone dresses very politely, talks politely, and behaves properly at the embassy. I was just riding shotgun, but I wore a suit and tie (first time in years). I saw other get shot down, I think it was partly because the guy and girls were just wearing shorts and a shirt. Very stupid.

Just treat it like you are going to court. Build a strong case. Use any previous positive history in your favor.

ATM
The swedes doesn't hv this problem like most other countries has.
We (the girl) need to send in an application, with some paper which we hv to send to the girl, an insurance which they hv to buy before hand. Most proberbly a ticket (booking) also.
no need to show work papers. some prople even say on the application that they hv meet each other in a bar. No problem with that.
It is very easy to get a tourit visa to Sweden.

Based on the OP seems like he was hitting a roadblock and it wasn't that easy. I hope it works out! After that I hope she can survive the Swedish winter.

Well i was answering Peter G. and yes, he's right, 1 week for the visa, 3-6 months for the residence permit sounds about right.

I was basicly saying how long the estimated queue's are right now, as they change from time to time.

appearances matter greatly in Thailand.

If i was dressed like a doctor (white coat and stethoscope) and a qualified surgeon was not - a thai would let me perform surgery rather than him.

Pretty much as I thought it was, the girl needs to fill 2 papers, one about her background and one about her family background, a birthday certificate and passport, medical insurance for the time period and a roundtrip ticket bookning and I need to fill one paper about my self and send it along with a salery specification or a specification from my saving accounts along with my birthday certificate... Easy peacy and within 10 days... Voila

Spot on Dodger, if a TG gets found out, then she will almost certainly be listed as untrustworthy and may never get a visa to the country in question.

Your posts always seem to tickle me and this was no exception. Your observations about LOS are second to none

My GF just call me and she got her visa today.
Now we just have to find a 180 days ticket. She is on waiting list at Malaysian Airways, but any ticket will do. Her visa is valid from Marsh 1, so it is not eazy. She is looking around in BKK now.
