i hate my job.was getting ready to go pick up my tickets today when i got told by my boss that i couldnt have the time off i had been promised since last december.well after a lot of arguing i have been told i can have it off,but a few days later than i wanted.which is still a problem as i wanted to be in los for songkran and it looks like i am gonna miss it.fcuked off?yes i am.so i will continue to argue my case as you never no where it might get you.but for those i was planning on seeing out there,it looks like i aint gonna be able to get away til 14 april.

i will continue this fight tho.

You must be well p*ssed off steve. Me and a couple of mates are arriving after songkran (deliberately, had too many songkrans now, wears a bit thin) so some of us board members will still be around. We'll be in phukers till the 9th May.

But if you haven't esperienced songkran, its a shame. Good luck with arguing your case. If not I'll see you next month anyway.

my new dates are 14 april to 10 may in patong then a week in pattaya.these dates should now be concrete.after an hour of talking to my boss i have got the go ahead to pick my tickets up wednesday.shame i will miss songkran but not much i can do.oh well i will still have fun.actually the 14th i will spend in bangkok at eden

,so i will get to patong 15th.

They celebrate Songkran for a week in Pattaya or so I've been told . I'm there on the 14th before going to bkk for my last night in Los .

If you had your 10 days in pty 1st then went on to Phuket . You'd still see a bit of the fun all be it in a different place .

Know the feeling mate - I got canned two weeks before my departure and had to cancel out - In singapore they have this crazy law that when you loose your employment pass you are not allowed to leave until all your taxes are paid.

Anyway keep trying and at this rate I might be up and running to meet you in person for Mid April myself...

Bad luck about missing Songkran Steve , perhaps you could explain to him calmly about what special meaning songkran has for you then maybe he will understand and have a change of heart , but look on the bright side , if you arrive later , you leave later too long after the rest of us have gone home and i think a visit to Eden club in bangkok will definately take your songkran blues away , its always a good start to LOS going to Eden

I leave on the 15th so I will not be meeting "The Legend" I was looking forward to your pi.. up as well

lol i wish i was a legend,i leave that title to mike and a fair few other guys here.baz will be having his b/day piss up there on the 11th i believe mate so you get to meet him and a fair few others.

Hey R3aps . . .

It is a shame having to delay you trip, if you have not experienced Songkran before.

I will be in Phuket on or around April 8-9. I intend having a week just lazing about, maybe in Kata or Karon. This means we should be arriving in Patong around the same time (15th or 16th).

As far as Songkran is concerned, whilst it is very enjoyable, I have been in Patong a couple of years ago during this event.

This time I will be somewhere a bit quieter, I hope.

Good point mate...

Are bosses human, were they human or did they have undergo dehumanification to become a boss...

I think it depends on which industry your in or what work you do - I work in Construction and my holidays regularly get cancelled, shifted or jumped on me in accordance to building site programmes. I suppose the same goes for nay other deadline orientated job.

your not the only one who's been told that they can't get there holidays i was booked in for June then this week i'm told that i can't get the 3 weeks off that i want. So now i have to change things around looks like i won't be there till september but i hope i will be there in July, the way i see it is the longer my boss leaves it the longer i will take off

I had a similar situation myself last year, due to fly out on Friday evening for a fortnight in LOS, got a phone call from Managing Director on Thursday morning asking me to change my plans to work on an important tender document that had to be in by...., etc. I told him that I would answer later that day. Went out and kicked seven bails of s**t out of a hut. Then had a brainy wheeze.
Phoned him back and said that if he would change my flights, I would come back after a week.
He agreed, paid for my flight back to UK ( I got a refund on return portion on ticket), paid for a return flight to Thailand in May, didn't count the week in April as part of my holiday entitlement - I got an extra weeks holiday, and increased my annual bonus by £1000. All in all I did OK out of it, mind you we did win the contract, that the tender was for.

Well I've gone from good to bad in a very short time. My previous boss did'nt actually go to LOS but understood the reasons why I went as often as I did ! Now however I have a new boss and it's a female so you can only guess how hard and unsympathetic to my cause she is !

No not really, trying to get over there in April but not looking good, probably have to wait now till June or July when I'm due for holidays. But you never know !!
