South African Dive Tour operators - Patong - Phuket
I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any South African owned Dive shops/ South African Dive tour operators in the patong Area?
My friend that is travelling with me is hoping to go diving and would like to meet fellow S.A. people.
Your help is appreciated.

haven't come across any SA owned dive shops/operators in Phuket so far and I've been diving here for many years.......
There are English, French, German, scandi, Aussie and some Russian speaking operators etc but no yaarpie owned ones to my knowledge..........

On the SiriRat Rd off Nanai and heading towards Karon/Kata I noticed a South African flag hanging outside a S.A. pub on the left-hand side a little before Simon Cabaret/Safari on the right. This was in Jan 2007.Didn't go in though.
Haven't come across any other SA businesses in Phuket in the last 10 years.

Tell your friend to pop into the AussieBar on Bangla especially if SA is playing Rugby or Cricket. They use our DSTV Supersport feed which normally attracts other South Africans into the pub

Phuket Scuba Club in Kata Beach is owned by a South Arican couple - Kevan and Chantal - who are absolutely wonderful people and run a top-notch dive operation. They will also be able to put you in touch with other yarpies around the island.
Sorry N1, but they've been here for years - they don't operate a boat so you may have missed them. They run daytrips from Kata Beach in the high season and can book you on day and liveaboard trips. They are very fussy about who they deal with and insist that the trips are run professionally, so you never wind up on a bum trip if you book with them. They are focussed mostly on diver education and run a very high standard of courses if anyone is keen on learning to dive or upgrading their qualifications.

They organised an overnighter to Hin Dang + Hin Muang for a group of us which I really rate as a dive site.......saw a whale shark and some huge mantas out there.........I really recommend this one if it is available Sarsbuk
