AVERAGE COST TO BRING WIFE TO USa

ive been married for about 6 months to my P-wife, so far so good. just wanted to post how much it cost me to get her over here and what i beleive it will cost the average american who will go through a similar process

i used an agency just because i would meet the most amount of girls that i chose and dont think would be able to do by myself

all cost is calculated on average stay of two weeks

air-------------------------------------------1,000
two weeks hotel (40 a day) -------------------560
food (25 a day)--------------------------------350
agency fee, plus they do all papers-------------1,300
going out and some gifts-------------------------500

it took her 10 months for visa, you will probably go to see her at least once in between for one week

air-------------------------------------1,000
hotel and food at same rate as before----500
some extra expenses---------------------400

it will cost you about $6,000 give or take, just to bring the girl here and no guarantee that it will be a good relationship, with the phone calls and money to help her live and sometimes family you might spend more, theres different ways of doing this whole thing, but an average guy that decides to take this on just plan ahead and have a budget set just for this. good luckA

What's a P-wife?

So you came here with the sole intention of finding a wife inside 2 weeks!!....and you had never been here before presumably? How soon after meeting the lady you've married did you actually ask her to marry you? Sounds like you had little time to get to know her; her family and her history.

Sounds a bit desperate to me. "oh I'm 34, I want to be married, I'll just pop over to Thailand for a couple of weeks and get a wife!"

I think you may have missed out one or two expenses too unless you just married her at a registry and didn't do the decent thing and had a wedding ceremony and party involving her family. There's also sin sod which can be the most expensive part of getting married unless you're one of the lucky ones who gets away without paying any.

I've got a great mate from Detroit in the States who I met in Colombia. He was 36 and had decided that it was time he settled down and got a wife. He went to Colombia to find himself a hot Latina. After a couple of false starts he has now been married for at least 5 years with 2 kids. He wasn't desperate, had dated Yank girls for a long time, was very fit, just figured it was time and he wanted a woman who was happy with the idea that the men did the men thing and the women did the women thing. I was totally bemused but it all worked out in the end for him.

There is nothing wrong with the thread and the post; in fact good information. I think it is a general consensus on the board not to duplicate threads.

I think you're wrong to imply the costs you've quoted as being average. They may well be what you paid out but will vary tremendously from one person to the next who does marries a Thai and takes her back to his home country....and I've been there and got the Tshirt myself.

I think a few other costs have slipped your mind like cost of the wedding itself; sin sod and you say it was 10 months after you married before you got her back to the US. What happened in that 10 months? Didn't you send her 10000baht a month or more to support her or did you tell her to keep working till the visa got approved?

MUCHO69, wouldn't you also suggest that the average guy do a few up front trips to LOS to sample the girls before turning to a marriage agency ? You know, like in your first few posts from back in 2005 ? Just to get to know the lay of the land before getting committed using an agency and all. So, add in some extra monies for those trips.
