Sex kills Brits in Thailand

NEARLY 150 Brits died on holiday in Thailand last year — mainly because of booze and sex.

The most common causes of death were motorbike and car crashes, usually after tourists drank too much.

But many holidaymakers were also found dead in bed after sex sessions with Thai girls.

Barrie Kenyon, British consul in the “sex resort” of Pattaya, said: “We have had a number of people just die in bed.

“Viagra is widely available and in conjunction with alcohol and sex it can be fatal.”

The 148 British deaths, a 50 per cent rise on 2002, also included 13 suicides. Others drowned in rough seas off Phuket.

Deaths in Thailand

I know one thing for sure..

I would rather go out with a 'bang' than die of old age in some poxy little flat in the UK in the middle of winter.

Drinking and driving is dangerous in any country, but there does seem to be a HUGE amount of it in Thailand.

It happened to my friend at Xmas. He was very drunk and wanted to ride his scooter home. I told him to take a taxi and not be crazy. He wouldnt have it and he went about 20 metres, turned the corner, hit a wet spot and hit the ground like a sack of shit.
Punctured lung and a broken scooter. 2 days in hospital.

I NEVER ride a motorbike with drink inside me.

Strange really - I am very safety conscious on a motorbike, but then go and stick my tiddler up a ladyboys hoop raw.

Doesnt make sense :p

I'll drink to that one Mike , although the accident rate in LOS is sometimes very alarming you have to remember that a lot of it is drink related , i like Mike will NOT ride the bike after a drink , many do not care and seem to be relaxed about it all , these are the same ones in hospital or worse the next day , its simple ...dont do it . I only ride usually in the day , i NEVER take the bike to Bangla at night , always take a motorbike taxi for 20 baht , its well worth the money and you can get as pissed as you like , for anyone out there that is safety concious and dont like the idea of bike taxis , just get yourself a tuk-tuk, well worth 100 baht if it keeps you alive

I never hire a motor bike in thailad always a jeep.
Nearly all of the time a take a tuk tuk at end of the night, but when i went with nicke to a late night karoke bar in november me and my mate got a motor bike taxi to the hotel at end of night. we saw them drinking some beer when we wanted to go home and said to each other do we want to use them but it was 4-5am and there was no one else so we had to use them and we got on separte ones.
To say the least it was the most dangerous ride i've been on and i sobered up pretty quick, I nearly had to punch him to slow down, lucky we made it back to out hotel in one piece but never again on a motor bike late at night. for that each 80 baht ( 0ne pound) i rather take a tuk tuk.
as for other people taking motor bike taxis you just do not know if they have been drinking all night or there on something and it just taking your life in there hands because one mistake by them and your under some cars wheels.
everyone says tuk tuk are expensive and a rip off, i do agree in the day time but night time much more safer.100 baht a ride = £ 1.20 not much for getting back to hotel in one piece.

Taxi Motorcyyeeeeee

Ive always used motorbike taxis and had no problems , mind you i enjoy the thrill of the ride and find if you get one when drunk , the wind in your face sobers you up , whereas being in the back of tuk-tuks can make you feel sick, a good tip though for the late night madness , always get the official taxi drivers (the ones wearing the green bibs) never get a taxi with some young guy wearing his own clothes , these are the taxis you cant trust not the official drivers who are in my opinion perfectly safe and very experienced riders . Another tip is always get your b/g or mate on the same bike , dont go seperate , you will find that having 3 on the bike prevents them from ''tear -arsing ) around the streets like a man on a mission ...chok dee

I allways have the Thai girl driving me home at night, most of them do not drink so that's not really a problem. Only one time I more or less fell off the motorbike in a sharp curve in Koh Samui during daytimes, luckily it was not so worse because I saw it coming and landed on my feet.

I must admit driving in LOS is not that easy for me because in Belgium we drive on the right hand side of the road.
