HI ppl,

Ok will be my first time in Phuket. Just really asking what hotels/resports are good in Patong.

Ones I am looking at are --

PATONG MERLIN HOTEL
HORIZON BEACH RESORT HOTEL
Seaview Patong Hotel
Amari Coral Beach Resort

Just really need to know if they are any good and what the "guest" policy is.

Merlin is nice but charges for guests if you dont book a double

Hi,

U were checking out Merlin, may I suggest Patong Bayshore Hotel and Thara Patong (they belong to the same class, IMHO). You have to book a double room no matter which hotel u r putting up in and when u r checking in, u have to fill up 2 names so that when u bring a gal back at night, they will not charge u. But one thing to note, the security guard might request to look at the ID card of the gal.
Maybe you can let us know ur budget, things that u r particularly picky about, tat gives us a better view as to wat u r looking at. Hope this helps..

i have stayed at the patong merlin and the patong beach hotel in years gone by and they are Not guest friendly ,in fact the patong beach tried to charge me 3000bht joiner fee ,so i moved hotels,
the Burasari is guest friendly to the tune of a 1000bht a night.
if you read past threads you will see most people use c&n hotel , but it all depends on what you want i.e a pool etc and who your with.

I meant Patong Bayshore Hotel. But Patong Beach wanted to charge u B3000 for lady joiner? Lol... Wonder wats ur reaction to tat request...
