Finally...
I'll be in Patong on Sept. 9 through Oct. 7. I'm looking forward to meeting all the BM's on tour during that time. To Hobbsy - my B-day is the same as yours...so stop by MTB and I'll buy you a drink.
I haven't posted because it's been 11 years since I discovered Patong on a business trip. I had nothing pertainent to post so I've kept my mouth shut. Tuk-tuks were about $.30 and LT was 500 baht. There was a mini-golf on the south end, NO McDonalds! and there were many empty lots on the backside of Patong. You get the idea. I want to thank Nicke for having this site. It's been invaluable to me while I was busy trying to get to this point where I can finally return. hackedhog

Im in the middle of trying to organise about a fortnight in Patong, not sure where to stay yet (had Le Meridien recommended and my first trip last year in October was at Rydges Amora which I enjoyed...lovely hospitality manager there!) and the timing looks to be 28th September for 2 weeks.
Was going to come earlier but it looks like you guys have had lots of rain lately and I did want to improve the tan amongst other things!

Will be arriving in Bangkok November1.......then flying to phuket the following afternoon. Will be staying at a local muay thai camp to train for about 6 weeks. Looking forward to hitting up Mai Tai Bar on a saturday night. I am a new member and I love this site so far. Hopefully will have some stories of my own when I get back!!!!
