if its any consolation i didnt get permission for 2 weeks at xmas,but i am taking it,i got 1 week off,i will then do a sick for other week and purchase my docs note out there.
nasty thing food poisoning.

Hi Steve
A lot of companies in the UK will not accept a sickie issued from an overseas GP as they cannot claim back from dss using these.
What to do is make an appointment with your uk gp a few days before you are due back explaining your "symptoms" and they will rattify your thai sickie , giving you a UK legal note in it's place. hope this helps.

work shifts 4 on 4 off
25 days annual leave
therefore if i book 4 days off , i can have 12 days , 6 times a year + 1 sickie =7 times a year to los.
last year somebody at work f*cked up and i managed 10 trips

same shift and principle as me,but due to other money committments i can only make 3-4 trips a year.

i was looking at the bm arrivals and i noticed alot of long holidays. is it common in europe to be able to take long holidays like that?in the US it is not very common

In Sweden everybody is granted 5 weeks paid holiday by law, some people may have 6 weeks. Also some people work in time to get additional days off.

Im taking a month off at xmas. Just under 3 weeks of it is holiday, the rest I am just taking. If they dont like it they can kiss my hairy ass. They need me, more than I need them. If that balance of power changes, then I get a different job. Easy!
