This will be my first trip.
You count as a member after your 1 post IMO (technically before)

Patong and Karon are very close; unless you are determined to move from point A to point B, you may be able to experience Karon via commute just as well. Karon is a 10 min / 250 Baht tuk-tuk ride from Patong. On my next trip I will be staying in Karon, but spending most of my time in Patong.

Phi Phi islands are absolutely beautiful, however, nightlife/single life is nothing to write home about. Weigh the number of nights your are going with your goals; perhaps you can fined a companion in Phuket to bring with you.

Not familiar with Coral Island and cannot help you there.

Wherever you go and stay, keep in mind that hotels are still full or mostly full.

I've mailed a couple of guesthouses, and it seems easy to get rooms in Patong and Karon. It looks harder if i wanted to stay inn a hotel with pool. I guess guesthouses normally have more vacancy than hotels?

But I have made reservation in Patong for my first 4 nights (Yorkshire Inn), and in Karon for a few nights.

I don't understand why anyone would go to Pattaya more than once. No beach.

Well your right the Beach is shite.........but their hotels with pools.......but simply put the naughty nightlife is HEAPS better.....and starts a lot earlier than Patong.

There are numerous threads on this site with a Phuket vrs Pattaya......good read some.

Anyway in 35 days I will set foot on Thai soil again...
