Phuket

Guys,
I have visited Phuket twice be4 but I am seriously considering coming over at about the 12 th of december and after staying 3/4 nites in Bangkok heading down to Phuket for 18 x nites for xmas and new year,leaving about 2 nd jan.
Any tips on this time of year would be appreciated like ,is there any rain,how busy will it be compared to sept and how much is an overnite Bg at this time of year.

I also want to stay in a quiet 4* hotel in Patong poss on the edge as long as it is within walking distance to the bars.

Rain - maybe very occassional shower in the evening, but you are well into the windy season.
Never been in September, but you are in middle of peak sason, so pretty busy.
Not heard of peak season charges for bgs, so should be 1k
I wouldn't call "on the edge of Patong" within walking distance of Bangla. You could try Tara Patong or Salathai. Get a VIP bungalow in Club Andaman (No guest fee if U have VIP bungalow). Problem is most big hotels will clobber you for compulsory gala dinner at Xmas/New years eve.
Tip - get into training. Bars open all night on Xmas eve, Xmas day and New Years eve.
Bring your ear plugs for new years eve, the noise of fire crackers is deafening :o
Most of all have fun, I did. Unfortunately won't be there this Xmas.
