Songkran 2007 Pics

Hey Guys,

Just a few pics I took during Songkran for those that weren't able to be here for it this year. I apologize for poor quality of some as I was hiding inside my car driving around.

A lot of people out this year. It took me 1 hour and 20 minutes to get from Nanai Road down to the Beach and back...

Enjoy

#1 - One of the joys of Songkran
#2 - Nicke and Ead
#3 - The Loop
Rest of the pics are taken driving down to Patong Beach.

and more... pic #3 is adorable. Just shows the innocence of youth and loving life in it's simplest form.
Nanai Road in Pic 9 & 10 at it's busiest.

I know the Thai Girls want to 'whiten' their faces but I think Ead went a bit too far.

Actually Mr SmartAss, I was taking my girlfriend to work and took the pics on the way....

I thought this year it was the busiest SongKran I've seen for the past 4 years... had a great time. Clothes are still drying off..

Nice to see Ead got covered in the powder, cos Nicke and Ead absolutely covered me in the stuff, it was probably them that got Lew.

Watched a thai sketch show the other night and they covered a black guys face with the powder, then asked where the black guy had gone, the crowd and tirak were laughing their heads off, I reckon Tommy Cooper would have gone down a storm here!!!

I'm still curious............

You're welcome guys. I like Songkran for a day or two.... anything longer and it does start to be a little too much.

A great time anyway....

if it just lasted from sundown on day one until sundown on day two like it is meant to it would be fine......but its now 3 full days plus a bit of tail which starts to grate a bit when you are doing the dodge on the way to the bar.....

but I still like to gey amongst it for a while on the main day.....you se some great sights as shown in the above pics.....and you will never see so many people together with bigger smiles on their faces anywhere!!!...........

I didn't think Songkran was all that long this year.....

Started in a big way on the evening of April 12th. All day April 13th. Much less fighting in the evening April 13th after about 8pm only Bangla road and then even not a lot unless you were looking to water fight or strayed too near the action. Nothing at all that I saw on April 14th. I was expecting it to go on until at least the evening of the 14th, but nope....

ps. thanks for the pics, Dingo's....

Yeah, i actually enjoyed it this year. Only 3 nights in Tiger this time, compared to last years 6!

I had one full day out in the battlefields. Started in Nanai and just drank our way around, until i somehow ended up in bangla. Had great time

i thought it was not to bad this year either.mind you on the friday i went diving with Neslon and had a great time ,we just ended up being the target for evey one in the back of the open truck for every water station on the way back.
my only regret was not taking a picture of the young lady who sat on the trucks roof and took the brunt of all the ice cold water hehehehe

Maybe just maybe I'll let the kids ride round on a truck next year. This time we did head into Patong for a while after doing something more "cultural".

See Songkran 2007

2nd time in Phuket, 1st time during songkran, and had 2 days of big fun. Only happy smiling people. Will be back next year for sure, but i'm already heading back in 5 or 6 months. Patong rules!
