Wink Taking Booze to LOS

Does anyone else take booze when they go over.

I always make a point of taking something (usually wine) as the local booze is usually more expensive or harder to find.

I take some cans of beer and cider as well, just to tied me over into the minibar, and I sometimes buy some at Changi airport in Singapore.

I also found this carrier in the Uk (about £3 on line) which you can use to carry 2 bottles of booze in or out of the case. You can get those leather ones as well but they cost a lot.

Regards

Drew

I usually take a decent bottle of Port for Crusty , he has a "cheese and wine" at Faulty's , so it's my contribution.

Port and Cheese

Does he.

I didn't know that, I love Cheese and port. There are not many places in Phuket that serve cheeseboard as a dessert, let alone port.

I might have to check this out. Where is he and is there a menu for his place?

Regards

Drew

It's not on the menu , he just decides every now and then (usually once a month when friends are in town) to lay on a 'cheese board' and some wine/port.

It's normally a case of 'bring some wine/cheese along' and join in.

Cheese

Oh Ok

I have sussed that one at least at the Deli, but it would be nice to find a nice restaurant that served it all the time, i end up drinking Grande Marnier and coffee sans cheese

Deli Supermarket, Provides Foods, Beverages, Wine, Food Supply, Phuket, Thailand

Port

I always take a bottle of port to Thailand. Have never found anywhere to buy it. Great with cheese, but better to contemplate life with after a long hard day....

I like a drink as much as the next guy but after a while I start looking for excuses not to drink and after a couple of weeks more alcohol is the last thing I want. I realize that BM's are a breed apart but I can't imagine bringing more alcohol to Thailand. Aloha Andrew

Promised a couple of people in Dec that on my return visit I would bring back a couple of bottles of very good Tequila. (don't ask)
Question: anyone know what is my allowance for bringing into the country? Am I limited to one bottle?
Thanks for the help.

I also brought a couple of bottles of 'Patron' tequila over for one BM , he assured me it was for 'sipping' , but the next week informed me he had almost finished one bottle............in one night !!!!!!

I was lucky that customs did not stop me , but it was a risk I was willing to take , both bottles were in my suitcase (less chance of being caught than if in hand luggage).

I'm that BM appreciated it alot!

Good tequila like Patron is not available here ..at least that's what my friends have told me

I know of many people that have brought over a little too much booze, no problem,. If you do get stopped they will probably charge you duty on it if it's a real expensive bottle than it's worth it than to lose it.

I have brought back 5 bottle of 750ml wine before no problem.

Always Bring In Over Limit 3 Or 4 Cartons Of Cigs 2 To 3 Litres Of Grog.

To Be Honest Never Been Searched On Entry To Thailand Guess One Day Will Be (guess I Just Look Honest)

Always Show Confidence At Customs Seems To Do The Trick.
