i have noticed it is almost sonkran, and i am sitting here, in holland, behind my computer desk many boardies are now in the air to hit the ground of the promished land in a few hours... have a nice time fellas!

so here is my question; are there any thai celebrations in your home country? and do you visit them?

In Belgium there are many thai celebrations. Start from april till november with about every month one party. Some are in Brussels the most in Antwerp.

I went to a Thai festival last night in the south of Brussels, Belgium. There was a band, fashion show and general entertainment. There were also stalls selling food, food to takeway, Thai trinkets. The proceeds went to the local Thai Temple.

It was a bit boring to start with but more people arrived and it was fun. Lots of Thai girls/women and hardly any Thai guys, how strange is that? ;-)

Met one girl who asked for my phone number, only to realise 10 mins later that her boyfriend was watching us from the bar. I'll never understand women!

In Holland I only know one celebration, and that is of Loy Kratong, at the beginning of nov./end october, not sure anymore... but it was a good fun yeah, with food stalls, life music, even a katoey performance many lovely girls and also only a few thai guys Next time i'll be there again for sure! maybe i go and visit some party's in belgium in the future, do you have a list are site wich ppl arranging the party's so i can look for details?

I don't have a list but I'm sure I can find out. I was told by my Thai teacher that there is an 'event' next weekend in Antwerp. Let me know if you want more info!
