If you are talking about Patong, not many of ther soi bars close, the ones at the end of the sois are usually pretty empty most nights, as for restaurants not the main ones, some in the small side streets.

Now Kamalala a whole different ball game, place is kicking, packed to the rafters, can't open 7's quick enough to keep up with the trade, go down town now for a bacon butty and come home with 4 different loaves of bread all from different 7's and thats without getting out the car!!!

Fear not Steve - everywhere mostly tries to keep open - well Patong anyway. You might find that Karon/Kata will wind down.

Bear in mind May is the wettest month of the year so you might want to choose where you go - as the deluges can be huge - I've ended up in Dingo's (fortnunately before he started testing his leathal Jagerbombs on me) for few hours while the soi flooded (about 6" or so), but would not let that dampen your sprits - the girls are all the happier for punters and of course the bar owners are also!

As for Kamala - the Beer Garden is always open and the D-men are often to be found there (as well as far too many hashers and Gollum!).

Last week I found out, that some restaurants open a little bit later - about 2 or 3 o´clock.
But enough others are open where you can get something to eat.

It will be quiet, but the bars will be open. Many of the girls will go home but there will be enough around. I think the only time bars close is on election days.

Does it get much quieter than it is now, or this is pretty much it until high season?
