Where do the locals shop ?
Did a quick search but I didn't find andy threads on this topic.
Are there any Supermarkets around Patong where the locals go and shop?
I guess that they don't do their "weekly" shopping in 7/11.....

Markets.. And mostly for larger shopping runs out of Patong to phuket town and other larger more Thai centric ones perhaps.. Though for many products the larger supermarket chain stores do have that power buying advantage..
Theres also super cheap in Phuket town and Macro (cash and carry style) near central.

Tesco's, Big C, Super Cheap, Macro and the local markets, all the same places as everyone else.
Tesco and some of the above located on road between Patong and Phuket Town, you would see it on your way in from the airport.

Tad more expensive, but a wider selection of farang grub and closer for me to get to, therefore taking up less of my time on the thing I most hate in the world, well not quite true, not to keen on stepping in doggy do's, especially when wearing flip flops!!!

K&N (Could be K&M) in Kamalala seems popular but think there is only a chain of one. Nice milk and peanut products.
Shop next to it has some unidentified fish now and again but prefer to catch my own..........Tch!
There is the mobile shop that comes up to the main gate of Kamalala hills but it's a long way down to that gate when its hot. Best to get someone to shop for you.
Walls Ice cream franchise motorbike man is good but only for dairy and ice cream related products.

Considering the luck/skill that you and Dodger have exhibited while fishing I would guess that you have not had much fish lately, unless 2 guppies died in the same day.

Chris, DMan is in England at the moment and doesn't come back to LOS until the end of the month, so I suppose your guess is actually right.

Thought he was still there but was not sure. Hopefully you are taking good care of his guppies as I think Bono would want to have a Viking funeral for them if they die while he is still in LOS.

Guppies are doing great in his absence, of course they miss him but they are holding up, keeping a stiff upper lip.
I've been teaching numpty, thats Denvers favourite lead gupster, to lie on his back and play dead, now he's taught all the other seven gupsters the same trick, they are really good at it and have an amazing ability to keep it up for days, well the last week actually.

If they start floating to the surface you might have a problem.
Hopefully they will remember Denver when he gets back or he might be heartbroken. He'll be crying in his drink, but that might be a good thing if it is a glass of Rosso. Have the guppies been getting any ST action while Mr D is gone?

They used to do that to me Dodger. I used to get up early afternoon and they would be lazing around on thier backs. Gives you a bit of a panic initially. Just do what I did and put two bare wires from the telly into the water and watch 'em jump..........Lazy b'stards.
Just because I had a bit of a lie in doesn't mean they can't do thier guppy 'thing' in thier luxury surroundings!
PS It's Gumpty..........Not Numpty.......Hope he didn't hear you!

As were on the subject of Farang Grub do they sell Pickled Eggs.
Its just that when we were having Khin Khao sat down on the mat in my Tg's parents house and she was eating an egg I asked if she'd had pickled eggs and had to explain it all,
So she said next time you come you bring me some, Thought they might have them in a supermarket there.
