Only 2 weeks till I am back...
Well I have started the counted down. Less than 2 weeks and I will be back in Phuket. Man it seems like for ever and I was just there in April.
I will be there June 22nd to June 30th and like I said before, I will try and stay sober long enough to chat with some of you at MTB.
See you all soon...

I too, have begun my countdown. I'll be in Hkt in mid July. Noticed you guys mentioned Shipwreck. I love that place for afternoon drinks. I became good friends with the daytime bartender there over the years. There used to be a knockout stunner who worked there a couple years ago named Phan. Last time I checked she switched work venues and moved to Bier Kutsch. Man, she is hot ! Perhaps some of you know of whom I speak of.

Marc26 I just got back from Van today, I was going to call but I was swamped in meetings all week. I might have some time for a beer next Wednesday night. I will PM you if I do, if not when I get back in July.

I doubt it. I just got back home to the US two weeks ago! But, have a great trip and I suppose a trip report will be in order?

Well I promised a trip report, but to be honest this trip was a lot different from previous trips. I spent the whole trip with one girl and I had an amazing time. I only made it over to MTB one night and just stayed for 1 quick beer. I never tore up the town and never got completely sloshed this time, now I did do my share of drinking but not cruising the bars as I normally do.
I went to Big Buddha and to some Temple, also spent some time at Surin Beach and Paradise Beach. I ate off of a lot of street venders this time, no going to big tourist restaurants. Like I said more laid back, just really spent the 10 days getting to know a girl who I really like.
Sorry if it is not as exciting as you would like or expect from me, but had to do some soul searching and now I am screwed as I really like this girl, but that is also a good thing. Now I need to plan my next trip back maybe in September if I can swing it, or if I can find something to pay the bills I might look at moving there more permanently.

Think you have enjoyed a different kind of tour. I had a similar experience before. Good luck for you and your lady.

48 hours to go! Man...I need this vacation... Right now, just taking care of the countless errands I have to run before I take-off. You know, all the little things...
Got this book called the The Butterfly Trap and a sleeping aid for the long flight out there. Going to spend a few days up in Bkk before I head down to paradise. Staying at the Summer Breeze for the first time and looking forward to stopping by the infamous MTB. I've been to MTB before, but never knew about this forum when I was there on previous trips.
Before I head off, a couple quick questions
I want to check out Kata Noi beach. Do you know if they rent body boards there and sell drinks at this beach? I heard there is waves at this beach. Hopefully I won't get killed!
Has anyone here tried one of the rafting / 4-wheeling trips they offer. Is it worth a go? Also, how much is that going for now-a-days. The online prices seem kind of high.
Thanks bros!
cheers
