BM's jobs....?????

There are quite a few BM's who are living in Thailand - my question is..........how many of you work there and what exactly do you do......and how many have saved up the money to either live or retire there.

Of the ones who live or are retired there - what do you all do on a daily basis to while away the time.....??????????

I dont mean to pry and I'm not asking for specifics, I have worked in many countries as I am an Engineer in the Oil & Gas Industry and I know of at least 6 of my friends who work in Thailand in the same industry.
I already know that some BM's own bars and some also work in Real Estate etc - these are all quite normal professions and I'm sure many other have similar.
My point is more aimed at the BM's who dont work and what they do with their time - a retired friend of mine in Australia actually told me he had to work at retirement, that he thought it was wise to have a good hobby or similar otherwise you are just waiting to die...........
He reckoned boredom was a real problem when you had nothing much to do - any statements on this............funny ones or otherwise......5555555

i go to school 4 hours-a-day 5 days-a-week to learn thai. it's a christian missionary place where they aim to churn out thai-fluent missionaries in a short a time as possible, but it's also open to the public. it can get to be a bit of a drag sometimes, it's very intensive plus lots of homework etc.
then i come home, sleep all afternoon and start work in the evening til 3.30am, then it's back to school for class at 8am.
no chance of getting bored .......
oh, plus slipping out to nana whenever i can get away with it

Snap!
although sometimes it's no laughing matter........

Working on FPSO being constructed in Sattahip...good to be working back in Thailand after 2.5 yrs Kazakhstan and 1yr Saudi

My positions will vary from project to project..... sometimes field engineer, sometimes superintendent and cover all aspects of piping from front-end engineering through to pre-commissioning and commissioning....

whereabouts are you Les? and do you get to travel much? what's your discipline?

I'm in Brisbane at the moment but off to Karratha in Western Australia next week as the Senior Piping Field Eng. on the Woodside LNG Plant for Foster Wheeler's (but will go to Thailand on my R&R's, probably Jomtien so we might be able to catch up) - I seem to be in the the same discipline as you - piping, and like you have worked all over the world..........good aint it.........555555
Was offered a job in Rayong/Sattahip a couple of years ago for Alcan supervising their PAM's (modules) but got a better offer in Sydney and took that one...........musta bin mad.........!!!!!!!!!55555555 - but had to be nearer home at the time.
Looking at a posible position in Singapore at the moment but their pi**ing about with the timing......so will wait and see.
