A few pics from my Vegas Trip (Link fixed)
I know this is a Thailand forum so that is why I put this under "General". If you are not interested in pics from Las Vegas please pass this thread by. If the MODS have a better spot for this thread please move it. Since I will not be able to get back until November I decided to contribute something in the meantime.
A few shots from my hotel room at Bally, day time around town, night time after a Danny Gans show and a few people shots.
Flickr: Photos from khrfx4
For those that choose to view I hope you enjoy the pics.
See you all in November

Yeah Vegas sure has changed in 10 years. Probably more so than in any other 10 year period in its history. It has so much now it is just incredible both inside the casinos and outside.
I was trying to get more cuties, but I am just not bold enough. My friends helped some as you can see.

Neither. I am behind the camera.
Money, hum, let's see. Well our room at the Bally was paid for by another friend; high roller. He needed some tennis buddies. Rooms at the hotels are certainly not cheap anymore because Vegas has become a family spot and not just a gamblers haven. Roms I believe can run anywhere from $100 on the strip and up. The Danny Gans show was $100. Drinks were $6 for a large (32oz) coke at the Danny Gans show. Large (32oz) mixed drinks were going for $14 and up.
There is so much to see for free you could keep yourself busy just visiting all the free attractions from the Belagio water show to the Volcano and more.

well to sum up it all $400 a day could be ok.a bit over my limit, it does not mean that one can't do it, hotels room price and drinks in italy are more or less the same as vegas,it just needs to make an effort and save some money.
thanks anyway, the place is really outstanding

Thanks for pics. I am not much of a Las Vegas fan, however, the experience of the Strip is something else.
I once got to be a back seat rider in a Las Vegas police helicopter in Las Vegas. 4 hours of amazement.

Las Vegas can range from one of the cheapest places to visit to one of the most expensive. I have been there many ten's of times, but not in the last 4 years.
Hotels:
I used to go there a lot for business and back then hotels were generally between $70 and $140 with discout offereings at 20-50% when there were no big events in town. I usually made a reservation at a resonable rate and called a service called "CityWide" just before my chance to cancel expired. most of the time I could get a fairly nice hotel like San Remo for under $20. Over all I would think the prices have nearly doubled and the I am not sure of the success rate of last minute bookings.
Eating:
If you are happy with buffet eating, the casino hotels offer all-you-can-eat for a very low price. Hesitant to quote because I have not been there in 4 years, but then it was $1,99 to $4.99. From there you will find a number of options in all price ranges to some of the most expensive you can imagine. I went to a restaurant once where the cheapest wine was over $100
Drinking:
If you are gambling you get free drinks in most casinos (appreciated dirty trick). The cheaper the area you are in (lower bets) the less frequent the drink lady will be by (or the longer to be served). Most casinos enforce the "must gamble while ordering and being served". Drinks in bars are from typical to a bit more.
P4P:
Prostetution is legal in some parts of Nevada. Can't remember if Clark County (LV) is included. I have not useful data, other than to say - expensive.
Other:
There are a lot of activities aside from the above. Las Vegas is between 1 and 2 hours or so from Lake Mead, Hoover Damm, and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. An excursion to the desert can be a great event especially between February and May. Death Valley is under 2 hours away.
The larger hotels have a variety of ammusements, including water parks and rides. Don't forget the shows; a trip to Las Vegas must include at least one. I am sure that there are many other activities that I am forgetting or that are new since I spent much time there.
Trivia Question:
A section of Las Vegas were segragated for (mainly) finacial institutions such as City Bank to avoid having to have Las Vegas (sin-city) in the postal address and to avoid certain financial contract laws associated with Las Vegas gambling. What is the name of that "city"?

What a lot of visitors do, is to make Las Vegas part of a trip to California. LV is a 4-hour drive from Los Angeles. From either LA/SD or San Francisco it is an hour flight from any of the 9 area airports and generally under $100 round trip. As I said, I am not much of a fan of LV (or got tired of it), but I you find yourself in California, the for most worth a trip for a couple of nights.

Hey great pictures of Vegas especially of the Bellagio and the awesome light show with music
so many hot chicks walking around with nothin on
I try to go once every 2 months or so and you can still have a great time if you go during the week. You can get a hotel for $22-$30 a night and there are still restaurants that you can eat at for $10-$20 a dish. I think were you speed the most money is at the gambling tables or slot machines. That is were you lose your money...
Vegas is a pretty good New Years Eve spot. Only thing is it's fr***kin crowded as hell

I live in the Las Vegas area (suburb)...and, you can't get me near "the strip", using a flame thrower!
ESPECIALLY New Years Eve!
Nice pic's though, oneday.

Thanks Pablo.
It's easier to go and enjoy when you live 4 hours away. You could say I only go about once a year if you count the last two years. I used to live in Reno and I know what you mean. Downtown is for the tourist and the rest of the city is for the residents.

Prostitution is illegal in Clark County, but is legal in the counties bordering it.
I think the answer to the trivia question is 'Paradise'.
