Burger King had a big sign for a short time announcing 24 hour service, its removed already and they close 03 or 04 now I think.

I also like the banks in JC, they close late, not 15.30 as everywhere else.

[quote=LivinLOS;348157]Actually was wandering it yesterday (god knows why I let her persuade me.. I hate wandering round shops) and theres more stuff open on the upper floor of the main building than I thought.. There just didnt seem to be anyone buying anything. Theres also acres and acres of sport shop I wonder how many tourists are looking for a compound bow ??

LIL I might be interested in a Bow if its cheaper than home but i agree its not why i would go to LOS

It's massive. Still has a "Coming Soon" sign. I guess they are waiting for high season as it looks like the construction is done.

I would love a "Jungceylon", if I lived in Patong. Everybody knows, how packed the road to Central can be!

I love to take a TG to see a movie, so I really hope the theatres are open end of November!

Also, it would have been better that everything was full from the start and opened together. My wife love shopping, so does my mother in law, who only was disappointed that there was so little open when she came in January!

Yes Nanook, but you being Dutch, should know then:

Three tickets instead of two!
2 barfines instead of one!
2 Girls to pay!

I guess you should bring your own "Heineken" to Los to compensate this!

Sure, but then you have to look for some way to compensate your budget!

They are working full out on the top floor above Carrefour at the moment, may be just Robinson's but that's where the cinemas are supposed to be. Duty rumour was that the cinema would be open in Sep but any time before Xmas would be a bonus to those of us living here.

Can understand that!
I arrive in BKK 08/11, but I'm planning a little stop-over in BKK and Pattaya (for obvious reasons ). I will be in Patong about 13/11 or 14/11.
My flight back is 04/12.
Should be no problem to meet each other and have a few cool drinks. When are you going to be there?
Tot dan!

What the place needs

To me it is obvious what the place needs:
American Tourists! Hordes of us! Flying in, day after day to shower gobs of cash on a shopping center much in need of Florida retirees' money! Extend the runways and you'll get countless direct flights from LAX, and then money will pour in!

Actually, all kidding aside, I was here two years ago when it was still being built, and arrived yesterday, and walked through it. This sort of shopping center relies on multiple demographics...it may or may not appeal to farang older tourists, but one obvious problem, when comparing it to MBK and Siam center in Bangkok is the lack of young people. Young people with disposable income don't appear to me to be a huge part of the population in Phuket. There are clearly some, but it seems to me that any mall that wants to succeed needs to appeal to young people as well as older people, and you have to have an environment where young people exist with disposable income and that does not appear to me to be the case here.

KFC is open now in the Port area. Very busy yesterday afternoon and good to see they haven't hiked their prices above their place in Central.

How are the apartments above the Jungceylon mall, they looked pretty good from the street level.

Do you reckon it would be a good investment, surely the rentals to tourists could cover the monthly payments, no?

I think during the change of ownership the condo idea was killed and it is all just hotel rooms.
