Did my quarterly inspection of Banana Disco over the weekend. Don't know why but it is something I do.

Anyway, within 1 minute of walking in I had a farang girl shoving me from behind saying "move on. hurry up." to which I pointed out the obvious wall of people in front of me. Shoves me again. I tell her "your on holiday. relax". Strange thing is she was smiling and I think this might have been flirting. Regardless it was annoying. She goes on about something - "bla bla bla, I'm a woman" to which I say "so act like one". Have to admit her face was priceless at that moment.

Little bit latter 4 girls at the bar give me big "Oye" and point at some straws and indicate they want 4. Ok, pass them on. I get a stern look and macho thumbs up as a response.

Contrast this with thai girls trying to pass by me or get in to the bar. A very polite "excuse me" smile "thank you". And so on. Like oh I don't know...ladies.

I thought there were too many farang guys at banana to begin with, and the farang girls are now basically guys. total overload.

Not sure if there is any real point to this rant. Other than I just find this lad type behavior so unappealing compared with the pleasant politeness of thai ladies. Well that is likely to be it for my exposure to farang women for until the next quarterly inspection anyway.

As an aside, the music has been updated and was pretty good. too bad the crowd sucked. But entertaining for a little while if you are in a people watching mood.

i too am strangely drawn to Banana about once every 6 months or so. It's a real toursit trap but this itself attracts some of the hardcore girls and is a place they pick up while their LT BFs are away. As you say - good for people watching.

As an aside I would say that the fact we are so disinterested in the farang ladettes makes them hit on you until they reach the point where they see you aren't just playing a game and really are NOT interested, at which point an insult will be thrown either at you "sex tourist" or the thai girls they are getting pwned by "cheap tarts and ******s"

You hit the nail on the head ATMw and it's the very reason that most of us guys here at the Board are spending every chance we get boarding a plane to LOS.

sure there are plenty of farang girls with an attitude but also plenty without
i think its pretty easy to figure out which ones have an attitude and avoid them

I think that a major part of the problem is that the farang women go to Patong with dreams of a romantic island holiday, but have their ideas shattered when they walk down Bangla road and see that they could not compete, even if they lay down, naked, in the middle of Bangla, at midnight, and invited every farang male to take their turn!!!!
Most guys, that I know, would step over them to get to the next bar full of sweet Thai girls!!!!( except So-cal, who would be having a toss in some dark doorway!!!)

Ps may have pushed that analogy a bit far!!!!

This has doesn't much to make me want to visit Banana for the first time.

If I want a serving of "attitude" like you experienced, usually the Aussie Bar on Bangla Rd is sufficient.

I dunno how many you see - I dont think this is too bad stateside but aussie and brit women its pretty much epidemic and when they are on vacation they are even worse.

That lady in particular was a bit too 'manly' in my opinion.
A woman wanting to be treated gently should remember that it's her femminity that attracts men to act as a genteman towards her.

Agree with you, marc26..
I have seen quite a few Australian women here who are with excellent attitudes.

But yes, there are many of them who are, in my opinion, over confident and coming as a bit intimidating for men/other women.

That nicely sums up what i was getting at in my post. Maybe I'm old fashioned or sexist, but there is nothing wrong with a woman acting like a lady or a man in return acting like a gentleman.
