Get serious....

You'll be (lucky), if you find 1 or 2 other "yank's", partying around Patong at the same time. (Let alone Bostonians) Unless you come at crimbo...which you aren't.

What's your favorite American beer? Too bad, I've NEVER seen an American brand, in LOS.

If you think you'll run into a bunch of "Yank's", to make friends and pal around with...you're mistaken. Not very many Americans are willing to make the long trek. (one of the reasons, I like it thee so much...and I'm a "Yank")

Secondly, if you are referring to LIL's avatar....that's NOT Saddam.

Much cheaper than paying inflated prices in the bars!

Not sure if this is a joke or not, but plenty of people do it. Then when they get tired, they splurge at the 50 baht beer place.

I've said this to Nicke, but I really think making Bangla a walking street has hurt patong. You have so many people just walking. The bars are more empty. But worse it seems to have lost it's intensity.

When I first got here, walking all the way up bangla at night would be impossible without getting pulled into several bars along the way. Now it is just easy to blast up and down. In someways it has made patong smaller and more boring. It took several months to work my way around bangla cause I kept getting distracted and pulled in places. Now you could give it a decent look-about in an hour. Boring.

I'd actually be in favor of night-time bars on bangla road. Something they could roll in and out.

I'm not a small outdoor bar kinda guy, but I prefer the previous intensity.

I suppose that was one of the few good things created when their was traffic on Bangla at night......... made the walking area smaller, so easier for a bg to pull you in.

Cheap Charlie????

What's wrong with the 50 baht beer place?
I find it a good place to chill out for an hour before heading into the madhouse of the soi's.
I often sit there for a couple of beers and watch the passing parade.
Music is ok. and not too loud, no hassles from the ladies and the beers cheap.
By the way, i'm not insinuating that Aussies are cheap charlies but i reckon a high percentage of the customers there hail from Oz.

That's the point. No intensity. Bangla should be about mad intense fun.

it was bad enough walking up the road in daytime with the Bangla rd traffic being the opposite of the rest of Phuket , so thank god you can stagger about at night without playing headers with a car

Another good thing was the fact you could get a tut-tut to the entrence of Soi Eric. Less walking and less drinking time wasted. Then when you were finished, you then stumbled to the pavement and asked a nice friendly tut-tut driver for a lift home!!!!!!!

Ah! Those where the days!
