Chalong nightlife
I have a few expat friends that i stay with in Patong but now they have moved to Chalong. I was just wondering what the nightlife in Chalong is like as i have never been there. My friends say Chalong has a few good bars and plenty of girls. They are good friends but they are drunk everyday and will tell me anything to get me there. Should i stay in Chalong with them or book a hotel in Patong?

Chalong is not a tourist area. Lot expats live there as it is cheaper and quieter than Patong or another beach village. Chalong never struck me as a nightlife place for farangs. Seen along the road afew bars/karaokes but I thought they were more for the Thais. I think a few BM's are living in Chalong, so they can inform you better. I personally would not stay there for holidays, but might be tempted as expat residence.

Chalong has some slow expat bars and the girls who work those bars are not perhaps the cream of the crop.
Nice place to have a drink with mates, not a spot for mongering.

Clearly the fact that your friends are drunk every night is blurring their vision. Based on drive-bys, the girls at the few small bars are basically in the bar girl union's retirement program.
You don't stay in Chalong for the nightlife.

A friend of me is manager of bungalows in Big A Resort in Chalong, 15 min walk from Chalong pier.
map.jpg A few times I have been 1 week in Patong and 1 week in Big A Resort, after a week in Patong it's good to relax quiet in a pool under palm trees. A few bars on the road down to Chalong pier, but must better quality in Patong.

Pop down the road to Rawai. A few good bars down there and a couple of girlie bars if that's what you want.

Some nice places in the Chalong-Rawai-Nai Harn area...after almost a year in Rawai I came to like it alot
 !! Not the great selection of girls,but it`s possible to find a little gem now and then  !! I still love Bangla,but I prefer to go less and less there during the high season .
