Sure, but I never once saw "we" in the post (OK one time). To me, that would indicate some kind of dominance... I, me, etc...
I personally do not like when women are portrayed in this way... Call it a pet peeve of mine....

well I have travelled pretty extensively and to loads of different countries.....to the point that now there are pretty much no places I really desire to see anymore....there are a few new buildings/structures I would like to see but the places they are in.....well I just can't be bothered to get there any more....point in case Foster's Millau Bridge in Southern France....I just won't spend the time to get there from Oz or NZ
LOS to me is where my friends are...where I am most comfortable.....where I can immediately unwind and relax and where I think about when I am not there....no other place has touched me like LOS and I won't be happy until I take a decent chunk of time there...this may cure me but it may also take me there forever...I'm game for the challenge
Take your time and feed your travel bug M26......but at some stage I'm sure you will want some place where you can just sit back and kickit......and it just may be LOS

It's always nice to take a holiday after working so hard (and a luxury for many many people), but I know what you mean Paul. I am not massively excited about my next trip to LOS - I just really want to get away and have a break. Anywhere.
There is an element of "same sameness" about it, especially with Patong I have to say. It's an amazing big world out there, so much to see. South America - now that has got me excited.

Me too! Over 3 years and still love it more then anywhere in the states or Canada.
Maybe if you are on vacation just drinking and not golfing, diving or boating and not working and integrating with many differant people...... it could get boring.
I still haven't been to to get out and visit all the dive sites yet.
So much to do, so little time.

I think you may be right on target, with this ITMode.
Never thought about it, but being there full time, and becoming more integrated...surely, new and interesting venue's will avail themselves, to you. One's that aren't easily accessible to the "visiting" tourist.
Drinking and mongering can become (boring), if done in the same place, all the time. (isn't that what most guys come here for?) 5555
Also, I think that the local Thai's probably interact differently with expat's. Maybe, not so baht hungry, and so on.
That gets tiresome, while on tour. One of the main reasons, that I want to spend more time "up country". It's more (laid back), and the locals aren't chasing you for your $$$$, quite so much. (except for her family, of course...5555)

No offence was intended, it was just one of seldom occasions when you see something written in way that makes you laugh, even though you know what is meant.

Sorry but thats just daft.. Theres a whole world out there full of experiences..
Hell only a year or two ago you publicly dissed / hated Pattaya.. Same as when you had been here 10 times and not ventured as far as Surin.. Seems when you do try some places you take a shine to them and change your position.

bored with LOS?
Little typical i think that he have to defend why he is bored with LOS.
Many people on this board talk about the nice people, exciting culture, good beaches, good food, etc etc.
Thats why we go to LOS etc etc
Have they seen anything around where they hang out ?
Mostly only wievs and reports inside diffrent go go,s,but they know everything about LOS.
Someone has even made it to a rocket-science to pick up a lady you give a little attention in bath for in the morning.
The level of analyse this up and down is endless.
Can anderstand some can get bored,Marc have been the and done that.
New exciting places to go.
And i wonder how many of us would go to Thailand if it wasent for the go go or bar scene.
Personally its more and more just a chill place with good friends, where i can forget job and the rest back home for a while, and just relax and let the days flow.
And what happens, that happens and stay in LOS
So i dont go there for the culture only ,buts its nice its there

Probably just some pre-travel anxiety. Think positive and it will pass.

If Thailand was the only place you could visit vs. staying home...would you stay at home? That kind of bored. Or just other places better suit where you are in life right now.
I know where you are coming from. A couple of years ago I had no desire to vacation elsewhere because I was already at the ultimate vacation spot - for where I was in life.
But now I feel the need for a change. Planning a European trip. If GF's visa can get sorted in time. I haven't been there for 7 years and I am really looking forward to it because it is in many ways the opposite of Thailand. Unfortunately that also includes prices

Bored of Thailand.....Nah not yet, the perfect cure for me is to change your girl on a regular basis
Following my last trip which finished ten days ago, I counted 48 entry/exit stamps on the three passports used in the twenty years of holidaying there and one of those trips lasted nearly seven months.
Even on my most recent adventure, the buzz & excitement when heading to the airport on the outward flight was something I never get by going to anywhere else.
The only time I get anxious is waiting for the immigration officer to stamp my passport upon arrival hoping they are going to let me in again.

But a while back you were criticising DBaron for always referring to himself and his wife.........so which one is it?
Dunno but you just seem overly confrontational lately. Is there something wrong?

I agree with MrDK there are more than one trigger happy BM on the board. That being said It is not Paulies first post with this theme. But if that is how he feels WTF and see you in Patong next time Paul. I leave just before you get here. Aloha Andrew

I say kudos to marc26 for putting forward a point of view which runs counter to the prevailing view on this forum that 'Thailand is the greatest thing since sliced bread.' Why do people have to get so personal if they disagree with what someone has posted?
