Exactly, we have nothing to fear from those who don't impose their will on others, thats my point. But we in the west are oppsoing our will on others in certain ways, its the age old problem, we want others to be more like us, and they want us to be more like them. But we are far too soft in the west, so unless things change it may be the less tolerant that inherit the earth.
I for one don't expect Thais to be able to speak my language in their country. I don't think the "West is always the Best". It takes all kinds in this world, but to see whats trully going on you need to see without biase or pre-judgement. There are no absolutes, no black or white, only various shades grey.
IMHO.
I find the Thai language to be very beautiful, and I would rather learn some of the language that I am going to visit. if its just like home, then why bother to visit at all.
