Not a specialist Chloe, allways running fast away from heart problems, but the only thing I read in this thread is that you respect him. So is this enough base to go further? Even if he wants to go further. Better think over what you realy want before going further. Posting mail to each other is not the same as a relationship.

The guy has flown 13 hours from London, Thats a heck of a long time to spend in a plane, and not that cheap either. If he has made that effort to see you then he obviously feels something for you. Hell it wouldn't matter if he spent 1 hour or 13, he made the effort. He brought you lots of presents also so it is not what he said, it's really the actions here that speak loud enough.
The ball is in your court now and you have to decide what you want to do.

like what most girls would do.. i'm undecided. anyway i'm very sure that he's here not for business trip.. he's here just to see me as i refused to go over london with free tics to meet up..
and like what some of you guys said, it does ring the guilt feeling of having him to travel so far... i did try asking him not to come but it was too late when i wanted to.. not to mention the extra guilt when he spent alot on this trip..

Chloe don`t feel guilty about him coming over to visit you, it was his decision to do that. On that basis don`t feel obliged to do something you wouldn`t normally do at this stage of a relationship. He has enjoyed writing to you and now wants to meet you, clearly he`s keen on you to travel so far.
He also hinted his career is foremost on his mind so perhaps he is only a friend ! Enjoy it for what it is and get to know each other better, good luck.

Welcome Chole...hopefully by now since you posted a few days ago, many BM's have given you their insight and advice. Hopefully you have worked out what you want in this freindship/relationship.
As for the gift of some Rice Pudding, not sure what intentions you can make of that, but if they were cruchless undies????
