Don't worry about it!

In general, Thai Airways, has a lot of connections to Phuket.
I heard that Air Asia is also still operating from the new airport. Nokair, it seems has moved back to Don Muang.

Its not just airlines but different flights leave from the alternative airports, it is important therefore when booking you state you want both from the same airport or indeed to get them to double check before aranging.

To my knowledge no one airline or at least not many, fly all the time from just one of the airports. Could be wrong there as someone may come on a tell us this or that one does but to date every flight I have booked with different airlines, we have had to check and sometimes rearrange to the next flight to save the journey.

Well here it comes: Air Asia is only operating through the new airport

Here are the airport codes for the 2 airports.

Suvarnabhumi is now deignated as BKK

Don Mueang is now DMK, used to be BKK.

These are the three letter codes that print out on the ticket and in your reservation.

Found only Thai Air flights from Don Mueang to Phuket.

Found Thai Air, Air Asia, and Bangkok Air from Suvarnabhumi to Phuket.

Some alrlines might not be listed on airline computers.

Thai Air seem to be doing an offer right now 1900Bt with tax one way new Airport down to Phuket, because Thai are operating out of 2 airports now there are less flights to Phuket from the new airport than when it was only the one airport. Sometimes the last flight is quite early, but right now it is 22.15 but there is a big gap between this and the earleir flight, Check out their web page. Thai Airways

As has been said before, if you go back with Air Asia and their flight is delayed or cancelled and you miss your international connection it is your problem. If the same happens with Thai, its their problem. (They would usually put you on the next Thai Air Flight which is a direct flight to LHR)

If your flight is the same as mine with Etihad i would assume it lands at around 7am, i found the firs available flight to Phuket was 11.45 with Bangkok Air..........

i guess Thai Air is the only carrier who serves flights from the old airport (Don Mueang / VTBD) to Phuket (VTSP)...

"default" airport should be Suvarnabhumi for all flights (VTBS)

Nok Air also depart from Don Mueang
All others inc Bangkok Air, Air Asia, One 2 Go depart from Suvarnabhumi
Thai use both Airports.

It does seem a bit odd that Thai Airways do not have a mid-morning flight from Suvarnabhumi, the 07:50 is followed by the 14:05 - that's quite a gap. I presume the first one is squeezing things a bit too much !!

I would presume, that Thai's Suvarnabhumi "domestic" flights, are scheduled around their "international" arrivals.

Probably a mid day gap, in that respect.

Yes the flight i arrive on lands at 07.10 so too tight at 07.50, when i booked my flight a few weeks ago the only flights that flew from Bkk Suvarnabhumi to Phuket were with Thai and Bangkok Airways all other airlines were flying from Don Mueang airport......

Dawsey,

1-2-Go doesn't use Subvarnabhumi, but Don Mueang. I have a flight reservation with them for next month.

Only Thai, Bangkok Airways and Air Asia use Subvarnabhumi (BKK) to fly to Phuket. All others only use Don Mueang (DMK), where as Thai uses both airports.

I apologise if that is the case. They are still advertising flights from Suvarnabhumi, and I saw their ticket sales office when I was there in April.

Not disagreeing with you Simbo, but this timetable must obviously be wrong then.

It looks to me that One-2-Go are going to operate from both airports, with a new flight time after 3rd Sept from Suvarnabhumi
