Swedish man lost passport

I'm sat next to a Swedish guy who has lost his passport. The embassy is closed today and he cannot contact his family back home.

I've offered to sub him for the time being but he needs to get something sorted regarding funds and new passport. I've told him about the tourist police who will be around on WS later and I'll show him where the police station is on Beach Road.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what he can do with regard help from the authorities over the weekend?

Things are getting clearer. He lost his wallet ( I assumed passport was in there). It contains all his money and air ticket.

He does have the departure visa thingy in his passport. He is flying with thai air. Now talking about flying home earlier to avoid cost of staying in LOS.

He does not have travel insurance.

Hakan (Tarzan) is helping out in Sweden.

The power of the internet really is something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The guy was really lost until he sat down next to me. Now taking him to the travel agents who will hopefully advise him of the ticket procedure.

I have not told him about that yet 55555555555

I've just given him a map showing him where the immigration police and Thai airways are.

He has not actually lost his passport - everything else including his brain maybe, so I don't think he needs to contact the Swedish Embassy. His father will wire some money over in the next day or so.

Yeah good work guys.

Must admit I would have immediately thought this was a scam set-up. But it does happen.
