The red triangles only appear on other peoples posts, not your own.

Cut and paste , but you will then have to add "Originally posted by......." , otherwise it will look like all the "quotes" are from one poster.

The easy way of doing what Faulty has informed you is to simply go to file and new window to (crtl + N) so that you can cut and paste all the quotes you want from that thread 1 at a time and paste them into window 1 in your reply.

Hi Les,

Firstly, avatar pictures. You first need your picture which, from memory, is no bigger than 80x80 pixels and you will upload it yourself via the 'User CP' on the top-left side of this screen. Have a look there and you will work it out PDQ.

By quote at the bottom I am guessing you mean a signature and not a quote from a previous post? You can add and edit your signature in thesame place, User CP.

Hi

Here might be a tip for some people who might get problems using Aol.

Sometimes with Aol You cant log onto this site. You canb read the forums but not post (I have no idea why). If you have aol 9 you can use the blue internet explorer icon and log onto this website that way. That works 100% of the time.

Some people may have no problems at all but a little tip for thoese who do.

Why access this site through AOL ?? Sign on as usual, minimise the AOL window and then launch Internet Explorer, then everything will be fine.

Im still completely confused by this thread. The Admin says people email him saying they're unable to post.

But he doesn't understand why.

The reason is simple - when someone registers, they click the activation link, and then nothing happens for 1-4 days. You try to post and you cant. You try to reply and you cant. You try to create a new thread, and you can't.

The forum keeps telling you that you dont have permission.

After clicking the activation link.

I encountered this a year ago when I came here, and I encountered it again three days ago. As a fellow social networking website owner myself, just a bit of input - you guys could probably double your participation in a few months by simply allowing activation to actually activate. You've added an additional layer of activation on top of standard activation.

If people try to log in after activating and can't post, for one, two, and three days, they're going to leave and never come back. There's no explanation for why they can't proceed.

Highly recommend that you either set the forum to "Admin activation" only or "User activation" only. Not both.

Just my unrequested, and probably unwelcome $0.02

You will also notice that this greatly reduces the amount of spam that proliferates other forums.

I'm not saying this is the reason, but it's a nice side effect.

I manually authorize new members, to get rid of spammers and trolls. New members is also checked against a spammers database these days.

But a lot of guys, never activate their account by clicking on the link in the email sent.
