Cool Location

K2 had his figures right, but it also depends on where you are looking at.On Phuket there is a good bedrock of granite trapping the water in and most wells are an average of 20 rings of half metre tall concrete.

If you are up a hill or in bad location you could be going a lot deeper.

Also the local authorities here are not in favour of permitting bore hole artesian wells here.

If by "out fo the way" places, you mean Isaan...

About 4 months ago, puchased an automatic pump (8400bht), hired local (village) guys to bore 65 meters (clear water), do electric wiring, and run PVC from pump to house for (6000bht). Fairly cheap in Isaan....

"Isaan... " Is this bore hole/Well placed on HKT island? I guess what I am asking is, what part of HKT is Isaan located?

On the far (very, very far) northeastern side. 5555

Suggest you google search "Isaan", then continue with the thread.

Well just call me compass!

I thought this thread was called "PHUKET"

I am well aware of the "province" as such.

Ask a silly question......

OK compass...

This thread, is called "cost of well".

And, it's placed in the "General" (info) section, on Phuket-info.com!

Many facets of Thailand (in general), are discussed in this section. As well as specific Thailand locations (other than Phuket), listed in bottom sections.

Since the OP is from Canada, I surmised that he may be inquiring...due to having the "pinch" put on him, by a friend he'd met in Thailand. By him specifying the "out of the way areas", I again assumed he was talking about other than Phuket island.

Not worth a pissing contest. But, you should know...I am a scientist. 5555

Thank you very much Pablo that is the answer I was hoping to hear...6000 baht is a hell of a lot better than close to 6000 USD! It is also more in line with what I'd be willing to pay.Even with the price of the pump that is very agreeable.
