BKK to Krabi

Anyone done the train trip from Bankers via Hua Hin to Surat Thani, then on to Krabi?

This is not about cost, but the "a place I have not seen before syndrome" personal issue I have to deal with. lol

I have done the ferry from Thailand "via" to Cambodia on the East coast of the Gulf, and I am sure the West coast would have to be as interesting.

I figure I will ferry on after Krabi to HKT..... unless I can train it. (not)

Any info would be great.
