holiday visa to australia for thais
Ok ive only been back in aus one week but dam i miss sniff sniff girl, we ended up staying together 10 days and had a great time. We have been in contact daily since i got back, and although i know you guys will shoot me down in flames i am thinking of trying to bring her out to aus for a holiday for maybe a couple of months? Anyway what are the requierments for thai people travelling to australia for a holiday? can they just get a visa the same way we do when we travel or is it a difficult procces? any advice appreciate

Its not easy,as you have to establish an ongoing and continuing relationship with her and have all the supporting documents to prove this...use the searcf function and you should find all the requirements...

Oz Visa for TGF
It is generally difficult for a TG or any girl from a 3rd world country to get a holiday visa to Oz.
Proof of her good regular income and a good reason for her to return home are generally the pre-requisites.
A sponsored engagement visa is generally easier but still difficult. In a lifetime you will only get one or two of these. So use this approach wisely and only if you intend to marry.
If she has family in Oz a holiday visa sponsored by her family is a good way to go.
A study visa can be good but expensive for the course fees etc but if extra curricula activities with a BF are found to be involved.....the visa will definitely not be issued.
I would suggest that you have the holiday in Thailand!
Good Luck!

I’ve been through this process twice now with the same girl, if you check on the Form 48R visa application.
You will find a list of documents that will assist with the application. Most of the documents relate to your relationship with the said girl and what contact you have with her whilst you’re back in Australia.

You can download the form (48R or 48RTha) from Australia Visa Services. I've had my GF here twice in the last year. I went with her to lodge the application in BKK and I think that helps. Take your passport as they want a copy of it. Be there when the doors open, otherwise, you could be sitting around for a while. It's next to Surasak BTS so is easy to get to. Very important to be honest on the application.
Here is a copy (edited to protect the innocent) of my attachment to 48R which details the additional documents that I supplied and why. Also an info sheet from the above site.
Make sure that it is obvious she has a reason to go back to Thailand (a job, but not in a bar, family ties etc.)
Good luck.

If money is not the issue and you have not that much time then organise an agent to sort things out for you.
I have been living with my thai G/F here in Aus for the last 2 years. She has obtained 2 x 12 month tourist visas but the problem is that she flies back to thailand every 3 months for a week.Ouch.
Anyways as long as you can proove that she will return eventually and that your willing to spend cash shoowing her around Aus, then you wont have a problem.
Thanks also to a melb based board member that help me out with this process 2 years ago.I Owe you a beer dude.

yeah the little bugger has got me by the nuts ok (a nice soft grip though) anyway i just thought a couple of months might be a good way to get to know each other. She of course is dead keen ( only been said in jest so far) but she kept asking to come back with me, come look after me etc. etc. i know its probably just part of her game, but i thought if i could get her here for a while what would the harm be? I dont want to lie on any forms saying were getting married or engaged or any crap like that, i would however expect to pay all her expenses whilst shes here and airline and health etc. Just one friend visiting another. dam i sound naive

If u go thru with this.....it will be very hard for u to give her up (unless u have a very strong will).....and be sure as soon as she gets back to LOS, she will be at u to go thru the process again......with all the guilt trips up her sleeve to deliver to u.
U may not consider this as a permanent thing....but make that Visa and she will almost certainly see it as a majot move to marriage.
Up 2 u

I can understand why AU's government makes it so tough for these ladies to come to OZ.
None of our local "dragons" would stand a chance!!!

Where is she from? Has she travelled much? I f she is from a small village and has not travelled much make sure she is 100% wanting to go to Oz before you book the ticket. She will tell you that she wants to go to Oz to make you happy. But it is a big deal for them to travel to another country by themself's expecialy if they don't speak english. I almost lost a $1000 on a plane ticket because she was frightend to come alone. I had to tell her to get her cute little **** on the plane or we are finished. Now everything is good.
