Bargirls and Intelligence Issues Does it bother u ?
I dont know about you guys but i come to thailand and i have fun , no doubt , i do however consider myself Fairly intelligent in that i went to a very good univirsity and know a fair bit about world issues , the economy etc etc ....
Ive lost count of the times ive tried to explain simple things like , for example where the UK is in relation to the thailand, , that in fact we do have summer in London//// "London always raining na" Who have these girls been speaking too LOL !!!!!... I told one girl do you know where bhudda is from, thailand , no i say India. noo noo bhudda from thailand , (give most girls know lord bhudda was from india)
Things like the war in Iraq, september 11th, concepts of working and money and that we dont just go to ATM s and money just falls out lol!!!!,
My question is do you ever get bored with some of these girls being so niave and blatantly oblivious to world issues or just things which we would deem commonsense...
Sometimes i sigh to myself thinking damn , these girls dont have a clue !
Dont get me wrong i understand many girls have not even finished school before there sent out to the "real world" , i understand that thailand education system is not great , i understand monetary consraints etcetc, BUT this is not what im asking you to consider or comment on .
education and money matters aside... do you ever get tired of just trying to explain these simple things, or do just take a day at a time and just enjoy LOS for what it is, and leave the serious talk at home ?????
Do you even come across these questions i posed ???? i think the more time u spend with a girl then the more the chance of them arising does....
Mabye its best just to take a step back and enjoy these experiences for what they are.......................................... fun !!!!!
I persoanally look at it like this , i know some of the girls ive been with are beautiful and many would like to be serious with me, but for the future i just cant picture it , i dont think i could have a relationship with a girl i could not converse with on a serious level, of course we are all different and want different things in out life , so i reckon we should get a good mixture of opinions on here , even if many dont agree with what i say or think !!!!!!

Education is an issue for me so I've always been geared towards thai women that have higher education.
Most thais you are going to come across have roughly a grade 6 education and no world view. Worrying about Iraq doesn't rank highly if your family's rice field is washed away in the floods.
However I wouldn't call most of them stupid as they could further develop their intellect with the opportunity and desire.
In general if you are meeting them in the bars then it is like your quote above. It's about fun. If you have ever heard "you think too much" then you know you are not in the right gear to be out.

I agree with you on thier lack of knowledge of world issues, except they all say "think nobody like bush", sometimes nice to have normal conversation with farang, the only exception I have come across is this girl from cambodia (working BKK) who I seen a few times who is well versed and up on world events and can talk about just about anything, aside from that I enjoy the thai girls for who and what they are

I remember being floored that my GF didnt know that caterpillars turned into butterflys.. In fact she didnt belive me at first..

I too consider myself to be fairly intelligent but I never went to university and have no real qualifications just 3 or 4 CSE's from school, But I know a few people who have been to university but just because they have been there doesn't mean they learnt anything.
I go on hoiday for some fun and relaxation from work, If I chat to a girl the last thing I'm looking for is intelligent conversation but I'd never tire of explaining something to a girl if she wanted to know something.

I was asked not so long ago if Africa is bigger than Thailand, just a little bit was my answer.
I think it does get a little bit boring after a while, but still enjoy it more than sitting in Angola speaking to French people.

I loved this and agree with it. I have met people who have degrees who come accross as thick as sh1t. I never went to college, well I did do a night course. I wouldn't consider myself stupid either.
Howeve, when I was there in may, I was with a bar girl before Jaun, and she explained to me a lot of things about Thailand, we talked quite a lot one night. It was great to have that kind of discussion. With Jaun, she couldn't speak much English but in fairness her English has improved. She didn't have an education like us, but I'm starting to get the feeling that she has picking up on things, stuff like the distance from Thailand to Germany and England. Also I'm picking up she is learning the value of money, albeit slowly,
Although I will agree with Lil on something. If I'm going to have a deep chat I can do it with my buddies on-line and I personally prefer it that way. With Jaun, so far, I perfer just to chat about the stuff we do... Just because she makes me laugh which to me is just as important as having deep discusions.

Hmm. I never knew that men actually thought about things like that. You would never know by listening to them or watching the way they act out in public. You really do learn new things every day!

I definatly can reach a limit with "where you from?" "What your name?" This is as much about language as intellegence. I think that the bar games (connect 4 etc) are a brilliant way to deal with language.
Facts are not that important to me. Values (honesty, caring, an interest in whats around) are much more important.
I have learned quite abit about Thailand (and people) from non "educated" Thais. I have found many to be keen observers and quite "street smart". Many have amazing memories compared to mine.
Yesterday, I was listening to a poll of listeners on the TV here in New York. I was appalled with the level of their answers. If you don't know something, it's ok to say "I don't know".
My answer to the OP's question is yes I get bored with the girls in bars. I am not sure if it is entirely due to intelligence or if it is due to the fact that they are young bargirls and have different interests.

That is the way I look at it. If a girl makes me feel good and we have fun together, what does it matter how great her intellectual development or potential is. Is she a good person, is she honest, is she rational, does she have a logical mind, is she pretty/sexy, is she a frivolous person with no appreciation for the value of hard-earned cash, what is her outlook on llife? Those are things which I care about.
If I want intellectual stimulation, I can just come on here, and start an argument with LIL.
I think guys who spend there lives seeking a mate, who is their intellectual peer, are going to be sadly disappointed 99% of the time, and that goes for farang girls, as well as Thai.

The one thing that frustrates me is that no matter how hard you try to explain it, they just don't seem to believe that we are not all millionaires. You can use all the relativity examples you like, but the fact that we can afford a plane ticket and a holiday abroad, to them means we are richer than they could ever imagine being. I guess i will just have to live with that.
Besides that, i actually find their niavety refreshingly cute. i don't go on holidays to discuss world politics or the splitting of the atom, so having discussions that are almost child like at times really doesn't bother me. In fact, while on holidays, i would much prefer that than debating my views on wordly topics with a women who wants to ridicule a males perspective based on her preconcieved ideas after listening to us and watching how we act out in public.

Think you might need to review that one. I don't know much about Bhuddism but I'm pretty certain there were multiple Bhuddas and they didn't all come from India!

Maybe you're too young to appreciate this, but I find it quite nice not having a chick yammering her mouth at me all day.55555

Well When BG's say Buddha they generally mean Sid Arthur (I cant spell it) and not the multiple Buddhas or the concept of any individual becoming enlightened alone..
And he was also from Nepal (which was then india / ancient india)...

According to Wikipedia Siddhartha Gautama are 2 seperate Bhuddas!
The Pali Canon refers to many previous ones (see List of the 28 Buddhas), while the Mahayana tradition additionally has many Buddhas of celestial, rather than historical, origin (see Amitabha or Vairocana as examples). A common Buddhist belief across all Buddhism is that the next Buddha will be one named Maitreya (Pali: Metteyya).
The names of 28 Buddhas

And back to the original question, yes it can get a bit 1 dimensional the chat, try a Russian girl or Turkish one in BKK - its an interesting contrast.
CM2 disco now full to the brim with 'em ...

Depends on which page of Wikipedia you read .

Siddhārtha Gautama (Sanskrit; Pali: Siddhāttha Gotama) was a spiritual teacher from Ancient India and the founder of Buddhism.[1] He is universally recognized by Buddhists as the Supreme Buddha (Sammāsambuddha) of our age.

Whilst I manged to con my way to a doctorate, I hope I never become so condescending and arrogant that I judge others by their general knowledge skills without fully taking into account their limitations as to educational access, life etc.
When we walk a mile in their shoes then we may just have the right to a little judgement.
Until then I suggest you either enjoy these wonderful girls for who and what they are or hang around a campus for your totty, you will find the intellect without common sense you seem to seek.
Good luck
