Server Down? Many people have problems.
I got many emails recently asking me why the server and website is down.
It is not but it looks like there are currently routing problems on the net wich affects some people, especially from Sweden but also some people in England.
I don't know where the problem is since I can not do a tracerroute from their networks. In Windows you can use "tracert www.phuket-info.com" and see where your traffic stop, if you are sitting on a network with problem.

Thanks for the info Nicke , i had problems myself from last thursday afternoon (uk time) , everything was fine that morning but after that i tried to log in later and found the site would not load no matter what i tried , i emailed Richie and he said he had no problems so i thought it must be my comp then as i had also seen the usual email reply to posts flowing into my hotmail from other members. i have only been back in from today as if by magic , im not sure about using ''tracert..'' can you explain this a little more please ?
Anyway , im back in now...panics over ......lol

If you're using Microsoft Windows or a flavor of Unix and have a connection to the Internet, there is a handy program to see if a computer on the Internet is alive. It's called ping, probably after the sound made by older submarine sonar systems
If you are using Windows, start a command prompt window. If you're using a flavor of Unix, get to a command prompt. Type ping www.phuket-info.com. The ping program will send a 'ping' (actually an ICMP (Internet Control Message Protocol) echo request message) to the named computer. The pinged computer will respond with a reply. The ping program will count the time expired until the reply comes back (if it does). Also, if you enter a domain name (i.e. www.phuket-info.com.) instead of an IP address, ping will resolve the domain name and display the computer's IP address.

If anybody ever feels really down and depressed and is considering taking an overdose, then I suggest you do it with paracetamol.
A couple of years ago I was really down and had the bottle of paracetamol infront of me.
I took the first two tablets and then felt much better

I think an overdose with viagra is better. After a couple of tablets you feel quite horny and are getting buissy wanking yourself off. Then you forget all the bad things.

Viagra overdose
The only problem with taking an overdose of viagra is that if you die, then they can not get the lid closed on the coffin.
In your case Geir, they would have to cut your todger off and stick it up your ass.
Which you would probably like

Traceroute (Unix) or tracert (windows) shows the way your internet traffic goes to reach a destination, this will show you if your datapackets stops somewhere.
In Windows, open a dos box and enter "tracert www.phuket-info.com" and you will see the way your internet connection use to reach phuket-info.com. (It will show computer/router names where your traffic go to reach destination)
I guess the problems you had is due to a faulty router on a major hub somewhere.
I am a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and took many courses in networking and server administration in the past, so thats why I learned about this.

solution
It's a bit messy but a solution for anyone that finds themselves cut off from the board might be to get in via a site like www.guardster.com - a free site for anonymous browsing. SImply type phuket-info's address into the space on the guardster site and away you go.
But you might be looking at a cached page - regularl board members should be able to tell.
Cheers.
