Price of Flights

Anyone recommend the best place to get flights to BKK or Phuket? I hope to travel at the worst time, beginning of school holidays (in december) and expedia is quoting £5.5k!!! to phuket. Its seems best to go BKK and get a local flight once there, but even that is £1500

Now seriously, your better off looking in the accomodation/Travel section.

Your flying at the worst time of year for prices, don't expect anything very cheap flights are booked up Months in advance, I booked my flight for Xmas in March.

Try Cheap flights & hotels | car hire | package holidays - TravelSupermarket UK they will search other sites for and give the cheapest options.

As said, very late to be booking Xmas flights, the cheapies have mainly gone, and once you get past Dec 12th the prices rocket.

What dates are you going and returning? I'll see what I can find.

I found just under £1000 on ebookers to BKK on 20 December.

There must be something wrong with expedia because you can book to bangkok for £1400 odd then £56 to phuket. However if you enter both in the the search engine its £5k!!

I hope to travel 20 December and come back about 5th Jan.

I don't know the carrier, but suspect the times won't be too good and there is a change of aircraft somewhere. Give them a call on 0870 333 4488 8am - 11pm

Cheap Flights to Bangkok from Dialaflight

Found a flight to Singapore for £851 with Etihad (good airline) change at Abu Dhabi. If your final destination is Phuket, no difference going to Singapore or BKK. Use Silkair to get from Singapore to Phuket.

Did a search on Cheap Flights, Airline Tickets, Cheap Airfare & Discount Travel Deals - Kayak.com and was quoted US$1171 LHR-BKK-LHR on those dates.

I have used both ebookers.com and Airline-network.co.uk in the past to book flights from LHR to BKK and/or HKT. You need to sit down and check as many sites as possible to get a real feel for what the going rate is going to be. And if you have some flexibility on dates you might save some money by changing your departure / return date by a day or so. Mid week is usually a bit cheaper. Obviously the direct flights to BKK are going to cost more. Good hunting. It's part of the fun ....
