Advice needed for Newbie!

Hi all,

as the title says i need all your good advice for my planned trip to thailand in November.

It is not my first trip to phuket, but it will be my first on my own (anywhere). Therefore i am a little nervous to say the least. Ive got an email back from the stoney monday oasis hotel, and it seems quite alright (Any comments welcome!), but the problem im having is with the flights. I cant seem to get any flights which fit to my plans, which are not over £1000, through any main agents that i know off. So if anyone knows of travel agents or how to directly book with an airline, your advice will be welcome.

Another thing. Is it wise to book now for November (27th -11th) or leave it till later, as i've noticed alot of flights are full?

Welcome New guy

1st of all , Welcome to the forum , there are plenty of cheap deal sites out there for booking flights , personally i use www.airline-network.co.uk
last april i got a return flight from Heathrow to Bangkok and connecting flights to Phuket all inclusive for £450 , however i did look recently after a recent posting here stating the prices have gone up , maybe due to an increase in airline fuel prices , the same flights are currently about £750
but thats cheaper than your £1000 ...good luck with your search

Im back again , i just had a look on this site , if you do a search in say JULY the price is as i quoted but if you are able to go very soon in June they were as little as around the £450 mark , this is on thai air

Photo sizes etc.

Welcome to the forum!

I noticed you had a bit of trouble putting your photos on.
Your photos are in a format called BITMAP and the photos end with .bmp

They are a high quality photo. You have had to make them very small to get them under the 100kb memory size.

When you are saving photos to put on the site, see if you can SAVE AS and set your photos to a format called JPEG or JPG .This is a lesser quality way of saving photos, but they still show on your computer just as good.

As for travelling on your own, dont worry. Its a piece of piss. Call in to Mai Thai Bar and you will never be lonely.

As for booking your seats, why wait? I would make sure as soon as possible that you are going to be on the flight.

Have fun and look forward to seeing a few more photos and hearing a couple of stories about the nice girlies in your pictures

Dirty Mike

My trip in April was my first trip alone anywhere and it was easily the best traveling experience I have had in my life. When you are on your own you are forced to interact with strangers more and can't keep to an isolated group, its much better.........and the bar girls seem to find you a more appealing target, so good luck and go for the stunners!!!

You may have read my original post here advising prices for june & july , ignore that , i just read your post back and realised you dont go till november , i think you are booking WAY to early , i usually book anything from 4 weeks before even in high season (i even booked 3 days before once for november) . dont worry about getting a flight you will get one and you will get it much cheaper than paying now , expect to pay around the £500 mark for both flights inclusive
