never heard of a snake restaurant in los... but you could always join the hash and run through the jungle...if you're lucky you'll catch a cobra there and can take it to your room to eat...btw to keep the cobra fresh the hash provides ice...55555

On my last trip I actualy saw the mahout of the elephant I was on..... chasing after a cobra into the bushes with his machete. At first I thought he was going after the cobra because he was afraid the snake would bite the elephant. But later on it turned out he wanted a free meal. The villagers where very fond of snake meat. But this did not happen in Phuket, but north of Chiang Mai in the jungle.
Cheers,
Raval

Yeah,
I was in Vietnam last year but i missed my chance to eat cobra. Im sure it sucks but my Hong Kong co-workers tell me i should if i find it. Something about drinking the blood and gaul bladder to get Super power. I told them its crazy oriental myth but they dont believe me. I figure if i eat/drink some i can clarify my arguement..Never been to Phuket- where is soi paradise/what resto to look for?
By the way, Im debating staying at the new Mercure (suite) or Safari Beach hotel regular room beach wing. Prices are $170 Merc or $130 Safari. Any suggestions?

If you can't find it, might as well just eat chicken.

Don't know of anywhere in Phuket, think you would have to go to a private house, but if you really must, Klong Toey market on the corner of Ratchada and Rama IV in Bangkok is the place to go.

...just tell the waiter that you would like it not too spicy;
in Thailand chilli is often abused.

You've gotta' just love Thai girls. The way they think, and the way they talk (tinglish). 5555
Just spoke to my TGF on the telephone. I asked her, if she'd ever eaten snake meat? She say's, "No! Not eat the snake in Buriram. Many Thai people like to eat...but, not in my home."
I ask her, about eating dog meat?
She replies, "Yes. Thai people in Sakhon Nakhon eat the dogs! Many people there say the dog is good for eating!"
I ask if the "black dog" is the best?
She says, "Yes, yes! The "black dog" is good for eat. Not eat the dog, color yellow."
Finally, I ask if they eat the "cobra" snakes in Thailand?
She exclaims, "No! Not eat "cobra", or maybe you die...because (poison), you know."
So, I say..."eating a cobra, is the same as being bitten, by a cobra?"
A slow pause...(I can almost hear her gears turning 5555)...She says, "Mmmm...Yes, I think so." 55555
Just love 'em.

There is a Lumpini Park in Bangkok, but this park is named after a village in Nepal where Buddha was born.

Snake is quite commonly eaten in thailand, tho cobra seems to be the preferred species, they are caught in the rice paddys in the dry season. There is a big market for them , although it is illegal. I have eaten it many times and it is one of my favorite dishes , though would not be suitable for most falang tastes as is extremely spicy. Is very hard to find in phuket and the only times I have eaten it here is when I've managed to get hold of a locally killed cobra or got someone to bring some meat down from north of bangkok for the missus to cook up.

There used to be, and still may be there, a snake restaurant on the way to Central or Big C. If u are going from patong u would turn right in kathu at the lights, then right again at the T-intersectio | |
